Feb 14 - As a mom, my favorite thing are holidays and doing special little things for my kids to celebrate them and having fun little family traditions. They aren't usually too fancy like all the fabulous things you see on
Pinterest, but they are things that make the day special and that my kids LOVE and I LOVE doing for them! I hope it is something they will remember when they get older. Valentine's Day was a lot of fun for us! Nothing fancy, but we had a lot of fun celebrating!
I got up early and made breakfast. That alone is a special day because I am not usually the breakfast maker at our house! We had heart shaped pancakes (They were supposed to be pink, but I forgot about that until they were all almost done..) and strawberries and whipped cream.
After breakfast, the kids found their special Valentine's buckets from Mom and Dad! They were pretty excited!
Avery was happy as soon as she saw that there was CANDY!!!
Avery got some candy, a Minnie coloring book and a Color Wonder set and a little stuffed kitty.
Rylee got candy, a Color Wonder set and a Strawberry Shortcake coloring book and a little stuffed dog that she had been wanting from the store. He is all fluffy and I think she carried him everywhere she went for about a week!
Logan got candy, a Star Wars coloring book, a Cars Color Wonder set and a Cars race car. He is really into the ones from Cars 2 and was pretty excited to get a new one!
Logan all ready for school and his Valentine party. We made his box the night before. He kept trying to tell me he could just take a grocery sack for his Valentine's or a plain box. He didn't want to decorate it at all! But, I didn't want him to be the kid with the lame box, so we made it pretty simple.
The kids also woke up to heart-attacked doors. The middle heart on the door said "We Love
Rylee Because..." and then the other hearts had things we loved about them. Here are what
Rylee's said: Great friend and sister; You are so smart and learning to read and count to 100!; We love to watch you dance and perform; You are a great artist and so creative; Beautiful...inside and out; You love to make people happy; You have a great imagination and are so fun to play with; You know what you want and go for it!

Avery's said "We Love Avery
Because.... We love how much you LOVE Annie; You are SO independent; You have the funniest personality and pull the funniest faces; You are SO excited for our new baby; You are SO little; We love your cute laugh and love to tickle you; We love when you sing! We love your Scotsman!
Logan had to leave for school before I could get a picture of him by his door. Here is what his said, "We Love Logan Because..." You are so good at
Kinect; You know your sports facts! You are so smart!; You love your
Aggies!; You know more about Star Wars than anyone; You are so fun to tickle!; You LOVE life! You get so excited about everything!; You are such a good friend at home and at school. You always try not to hurt people's feelings;
Later that day, someone rang the doorbell and the kids each found a little box of chocolates for them from Cupid!
Since we already had our fancy dinner, we had a heart-shaped Papa
Murphy's pizza for dinner and then we were off to the Aggie game! We had a fun Valentine's day! I LOVE remembering all the things I LOVE about my cute little family and how blessed I am to have them!
