Bear Lake

Aug 19 - It seems like we get to the end of summer every year and realize there are a lot of things we didn't do that we wanted to do. One of those things was Bear Lake, so we squeezed in a quick trip before it was too late. We left on a Friday afternoon after Darren got home from work. We spent a couple hours playing on the beach. It was a super windy day. When we first got there, we tried to fly a kite, but the wind was so strong, it blew it away! The kids loved the beach! Logan spent most of his time in the water and Rylee loved digging and playing in the dirt and collecting LOTS of shells. Avery was completely fascinated by the sand and had it all over her and even tried to eat it! She was crawling everywhere and was a mess but loved it! We had so much fun, until the wind got so bad and the sand was blowing everywhere and it was stinging against our legs and really hurt! It was like an episode of Jon and Kate plus 8 that I had seen with them on the beach. It was awful! Luckily, Daddy pulled up right by us and we got into the car pretty quickly. After the sand storm we had enough and decided to head for some dinner... There are a ton of pictures. I think Bear Lake is one of the prettiest places ever! I love the color of the water!

Rylee was not happy with all the crazy wind and sand! Poor baby! She wouldn't get off her chair because she was afraid the sand would sting her legs again and she was NOT going to take off her sunglasses!

Next, we went to Bear Lake pizza for some yummy dinner! The kids had fun playing on these little ride-ons while we waited for our food. When I took this picture, Rylee told me to have the horse smile. Silly girl!

After pizza, we had to stop for some famous Bear Lake raspberry shakes and ice cream at La Beau's!

On the way home, we noticed some cars pulled over on the side of the road. So, we pulled over and saw this BIG bull moose! It was so neat! We watched him for quite awhile and got pretty close. It was a great end to our fun day! Oh, how I love the days of summer!!! Can't wait to get back to the beach! I am hoping we get to squeeze in more than one trip to Bear Lake this next summer. We love it there.
