Live Nativity

Dec 12 - One of our favorite Christmas activities in December is to go to the Live Nativity near our home. It was our countdown activity for the day and also our Family Home Evening. The nativity is in a big barn where they have lots of animals (including a donkey, a CAMEL and a ZONKEY!!!) and then actors dressed up to represent the nativity. They play a recording of the scripture story over and over while the people act it out a little and you can watch. It is nothing fancy, but the kids really enjoy it and it is a really great way to remember what Christmas is all about. The kids look forward to it every year! In the barn checking out some of the animals Avery and the donkey The kids were so reverent when it was their turn to see Baby Jesus and wanted to listen to the story several times. Rylee and Daddy with Moses the camel. (He is pretty hard to see since it was so dark....) We didn't want to get too close since he almost ate Avery last year! We didn't get a picture of the zonkey. He was kind of far away, but he was pretty crazy looking! Avery's turn with Moses. He is there....just hard to see! We also got to go on a hay ride which the kids loved! Logan even got the singing started and he was so proud of himself for starting "We wish you a Merry Christmas!"
Before we left, the kids really wanted to see Baby Jesus one more time. They really listened and watched and Avery got right up close so she could "see" him. It was a perfect FHE for the Christmas season!
