Beckham!

March 26 - So, Darren is about the BIGGEST soccer fan on the planet and one of his VERY favorite players is David Beckham, but he has never been able to see him play before. As soon as he found out that he would be playing in Salt Lake this season, he HAD to have tickets. My little brother's soccer team was selling Real Salt Lake tickets to the LA Galaxy game as a Fundraiser, so we ended up getting a bunch of tickets and going to the game with lots of friends and family. It was awesome! And we saw David Beckham!!! But... no Posh Spice! We did see Jimmer on the Jumbotron though. Pretty sweet night for celebrities, right? It was an exciting game! Real dominated and scored FOUR goals and won 4-1. It was awesome!!!
Logan has been saying that he plays soccer like David Beckham since he was ONE so he was really excited to go to the game! He is a HUGE Real fan just like his daddy!
My little brother Kyle got to walk in the Parade of Kings before the game with his team. He is the first one in the line in the brown hat.
Logan watching the game
#23....David Beckham!!!
Our fam - Can you tell how happy my hubby is??? Soccer heaven! Rylee was supposed to go but it was cold and rainy and I didn't think she would last, so we ended up giving her ticket to my brother, Jeff. She found out Grandma was getting her nails painted and decided that sounded way more fun anyway.
Logan and his Uncles, Kyle and Jeff. I love how excited he is!
Oh yeah... Beckham again... It was one of the best games I have ever been to! We had a great time!

I wish we would have gotten a group picture. We had our friends Robb and Carlie and also our friends Scott and Kathy there, as well as my sister Heather and her hubby Jay. We also had my brothers Kyle and Jeff. Darren's brother Cory and his wife Katie went and one of their friends and Darren's brother Kevin and a few of his friends. It was a great game! Even in the rain! GOOO Real!!!

Road Trip

March 18 - Ever since we finished Dental School, we have been talking to our friends, Jon and Annie, about getting together one weekend with them. They live in Boise, which isn't too far, but is definitely not just a quick trip. We have seen them a couple times as they passed through on their way to visit family and we have been able to meet up for dinner or something, but we haven't spent much time. And we really wanted to see their amazing house and their baby girl who is ONE who we have never even met! And, they have never met Avery. So, after almost THREE years we finally found a weekend that worked for all of us and made the trip! Here are the kids on the LONG and uneventful drive to Boise. It took about 5 hours. Thank goodness for naps, movies and the Leapster!

Avery has finally discovered watching Elmo which has helped a TON with making car trips. I am pretty sure she watched Elmo FIVE or SIX times on the drive, (and we only have ONE Elmo movie...) which means it played right behind my head that many times... My favorite thing is watching her little head bob back and forth when the music starts. "La, la, la, la...la,la,la,la....Elmo's World!" She gets the biggest grin and her head going from side to side is the cutest ever!

So...once we got there, there really aren't any pictures.... So sad! We didn't really do much. We just hung out and chatted and the kids played together great! They have 3 adorable girls and Rylee was especially in heaven. Logan also enjoyed going for a ride on Jon's 4 wheelers and I got to make a trip with Annie to Costco! Yeah!!! I wish we had one of those. Besides that and going out to eat, we mostly just hung out together and watched lots of March Madness Basketball. It was great! We miss them so much! You know how you have those friends who you can not talk to for months and it never really feels different? That is how it is with Jon and Annie! Even though it had been THREE years since we had really hung out, it just felt like old times and we never ran out of things to talk about and we laughed a lot! It was great!!! And Rylee has a new special friend in Shelby. They were so much alike and Rylee asks to see her all the time now.

Sunday morning, we went to their Sacrament meeting and then headed for home, but we did get a couple quick pictures before we left.
Baby Ellie was napping, but here are the other 5 kids. It is IMPOSSIBLE for a good picture of FIVE kids!!! Logan, Avery, Rylee, Libby and Shelby
One more try...and not really any better...
Still not a good one...
Here are the little buddies, Rylee and Shelby. I think they were dancing. They played the entire time together with no fights and got along so well! They spent a lot of the time coloring. It was too cute!
Shelby made Rylee an entire sack of cards for her birthday and insisted we take them all home with us! She also wrapped up a cute little card all by herself to give Rylee since her birthday was in a few days. What a cute little friend!
Me and Annie
Darren and Jon
Driving back home.... Yeah for naps!!!
Rylee enjoying some snacks and a movie
Logan doing the same.

Thanks Jon and Annie for a fabulous weekend! We have missed you so much!!! You were great hosts! Now, it is your turn to come for a visit! Can't wait... Please don't take 3 MORE years!!!

JAZZED!!!

Mar 5 - Logan finally got to go to his VERY first Jazz game! He has been begging to go ever since we moved to Utah and we just haven't been able to figure out a good time to get down there. But for Christmas this year, he got tickets and was SO excited! Dad let him pick the game he wanted to see and he first chose the Suns game, but that ended up not working out with our schedule. His second choice was a Kings game. I was a little bummed for him because the game ended up being right after the whole deal where the Jazz lost both Derron Williams and Jerry Sloan! And then the Jazz lost... a lot! But, luckily they actually saw a win - in DOUBLE overtime! It was great!
I'm bummed that this picture didn't turn out! This was the view from where they sat. Logan was AMAZED how big the ESA arena was and loved the atmosphere, although I don't think it quite compares to the Spectrum. There was no winning team/losing team chant at the end of the game!
Daddy and Logan on their fun date!
Soon after the game started, an older man sat down next to Logan and after a few minutes of listening to Logan cheer and talk about D-Will, he got up and then came back a few minutes later with a bag that he handed to Logan and asked him to take care of it. Inside was a Jazz tshirt. Logan was STOKED! It is a little big, but he LOVES it! Another older lady that was sitting by him also gave him her noisemaker and all of the people in their section were trying really hard to catch him a ball. Logan loved it! He is such a sweet boy and just has that effect on people. Everybody loves Logan!

Recent Happenings...

This post is totally random but just a few funny recent things that have happened. I really like journaling some of the funny things my kids do and this is the best way I have found to remember to do it. Here are some things from this week...

Avery performed her very own frenectomy this week. If you aren't sure what that is, don't feel bad. I wouldn't either if I wasn't married to a Dentist. It is basically a procedure where they have to cut back the little piece of skin that connects the gums to the lip right in the front of your mouth. Sometimes it is too tight and can cause the teeth to have a gap between the 2 front teeth. Avery's is like that and Darren has always thought he would probably have to eventually cut hers. Well... Not anymore! She did it herself! I put her down for a nap the other day and she cried for a really long time, which isn't normal. So, after about 15 minutes I went in and she had some blood on her face and shirt and was saying "ow, ow" and pointing to her mouth. I couldn't see anything in there and she isn't getting any teeth, so I was a little confused, but I laid down with her on my bed and she finally calmed down and went to sleep. Later that day, Darren discovered that she had ripped her frenum! It looked gross, but he said it is fine and now he won't have to do that later. I guess that is what she results to when she is mad.... We might have to be a little careful with her!

Avery has also started this funny new thing where she wants to ride everything like a pony. When we visited our friend's in Boise, they do this fun little rhyme about a pony named Jack and they bounced her and she loved it! Now she will climb on you and start bouncing and say "po" for pony. It is pretty funny!

Avery has also started hating going to bed. She was doing GREAT for awhile and would say "ni-ni" so sweet when you would lay her down, but for the last week she has been crying just about every night. As soon as I finish singing to her, she will say "la" over and over while I am putting her in her bed which I finally figured out means that she wants another song. It is so sweet she usually gets at least one extra song out of me, but it is never enough. She always wants more!

The other morning Rylee went into the potty and Avery followed her. (Avery likes to try and help Rylee wipe...Its not such a great thing!) We could hear Rylee saying something about being out of "wiping paper". She usually SCREAMS for us repeatedly (in a not so nice way!) when she is done going potty to come and wipe her, but a few minutes later she just came out of the bathroom. We asked her why she didn't call us and she said she wiped herself. Darren said, "I thought there wasn't any toilet paper." Rylee said, "We were out of wiping paper, so I just used some blow your nose paper instead."

It seems since Rylee has been potty trained we have a lot of potty related discussions, so sorry for that. The other day, she came rushing in to go potty and sat down to go while I was doing my hair. She was rather bothered that she had to stop playing to go potty and she said in a very frustrated tone, "Ugh! I wish I didn't have to go to the bathroom!" Then, she thought for a second and said, "At least I wish I was a boy and could just stand up to go potty!"

Last night at dinner, we had cantaloupe. Rylee LOVES fruit and wanted a 4th helping when I told her she had probably had enough. She asked why she couldn't have more and I told her she might get a tummy ache and have problems going potty. She said, "I wish I was still 3!" I asked why and she said," Then I could eat as much fruit as I want and just poop it out in my diaper." Good table talk, for sure!

Mr Logan had his BIG Kindergarten program this week. He did awesome and was such a passionate and animated singer! We loved watching him. He loved all those songs and I am sure he will probably be weird like me and still remember them when he is 30 years old. (I still sing songs from 1st grade all the time...) Besides singing, the kids also did the Virginia Reel, which was so cute with their partners! But my favorite part of the program was when the boys did a poi ball dance. It was awesome! Logan's face was bright red because he was so intense on his spinning! I loved it! At the end, the teacher presented each kid with a special memory book. When Logan went up, I told him he needed to look at Mom and Dad so we could take his picture. I said he could hug his teacher if he wanted. He watched the other kids for a minute and said, "No mom. Just a handshake!" But, when he went up, he gave his teacher a BIG hug! She told me after how touched she was by it. Logan is such a sweet and tender boy. I just love him!

This weekend, my family went up to the cemetery near by to see where my Grandpa was buried. It has been a tradition ever since I could remember on Memorial Day weekend since my Grandpa died when my dad was very young and none of us ever knew him. As soon as we stepped out of the car, Logan saw the LARGE marker by our family plots that says, "BOMAN" and he pointed and said rather matter of factly, "Oh. I see where Jeff is going to die." (Jeff is my 18 year old brother) It was hilarious! He was pretty funny in the cemetery though and really studied my Grandpa's grave marker for quite awhile. Today, we were talking about what we were going to do tomorrow and he said, "It's Memorial Day. We just have to remember all our Great-Grandpas who died." He was pretty serious about it and it was just funny the way he said it. You probably had to be there...

Yesterday, after the cemetery, my brothers came over and played Kinect with Logan for awhile. Logan is EXTREMELY competitive and HATES to lose....(I have NO idea where that trait comes from...) He somehow was matched against my brother Brad, who is 16. He actually beat him in the first 2 games they tried. Then, was boxing. Logan was winning, but it ended up being a draw and Logan was quite upset. They were about to start a new game and Logan said,"I'm done! I'm not playing anymore." When we asked him why he said, "Brad almost beat me in boxing and I'm supposed to be a professional!" Just typing it doesn't really do it justice... You needed to see his intensity, but it was pretty funny!

Wow...I thought this would be just a short little post, but I guess I had more to say than I thought. I need to do better at writing all my funny conversations with my kids! They always make my day better!

Disney on ICe

March 10 - For Christmas, Darren and I gave Logan and Rylee each a special Date night. Logan's was tickets to a Jazz game and Rylee's was tickets to Disney on Ice. They were so excited and had a hard time waiting for their big nights to come! Rylee had to wait longer than Logan and she couldn't wait for Disney on Ice! Some of our good friends also ended up going the same night, so we were able to drive down together and it was so much fun! We met them in Layton and made a quick dinner stop at In-N-Out!
Rylee LOVES In-N-Out! She can eat a whole burger there with NO problem! I love her!!!

Going to dinner took MUCH longer than we planned and we were a little frantic to get to the show on time. We seriously parked and RAN to the ESA in less than 5 minutes and sat down in our seats just as the lights went down for the show to start. Close call!
Rylee was SO excited!!!
Waving as all the Princesses came out for the ball. She was a little bothered that Rapunzel from Tangled wasn't there...
I loved watching all of her funny faces throughout the show. This was when they were doing the Princess Ball and Ariel came out. She was in heaven!!!
Me and Rylee at intermission. The show was celebrations and in the first act they did an Unbirthday party with the Alice in Wonderland characters, a Halloween part with all the Disney villains and a really cool part with the brooms from Fantasia. They also did a Valentine's Ball with all the Princesses and Rylee was LOVING that!!!
During Intermission, Rylee had to change into her dress since we were running late and didn't have time to do it before the show started. I tried to talk her out of it since the show was already half over, but she wanted to be in her Belle dress! She also got a Tinkerbell snow cone and it kept her busy for the rest of the night! It was HUGE and so hard for her to eat and made a giant mess. But, she loved it! Waving at the end of the show! She had a great time! The second half had a real Hawaiian luau with Lilo and Stitch and even a fire dancer and a Christmas part with all the Toy Story characters.
All of the characters at the finale.

Mommy and Rylee just before we went home. We had such a fun night! I love doing these one on one dates with the kids and seeing them on their own. It is so fun for them and for me! Rylee LOVED her night with the Disney Princesses and I loved MY Princess!
Rylee and her cute friends - Gracie, Whitney and Brooke
Rylee and her Tinkerbell cup! She couldn't wait to tell Daddy all about it!

Hockey and Playing Hookey

March 9 - Darren's parents called in March and said they had won a suite to a Grizzly hockey game at a charity auction and had 2 tickets for our family. Darren had to work late, so we thought about not going and giving our tickets up, but Logan really loves hockey games and I was making a trip to Salt Lake the next day anyway, so I decided to make a fun little trip with the kids and go down. I picked Logan up from school that day and we drove to Grandma Boman's where I dropped off the girls and then Logan and I headed off with some of Darren's brothers and their families to watch the Grizzlies!!!
Logan ready for the game!
Logan with some of his cousins at the game. (Logan, Ryan, Taylor, Spencer and Haley) He thought it was SO cool to watch a game from the suite! Especially with all the yummy food! Grandpa Bill got tickets for almost every family to have 2 so we went with Grandma and Grandpa, Brian, Madi, Spencer and Lauren, Kevin and Haley, Matt and Mandy, Taylor and Ryan, and Cory and Katie and me and Logan.
The view from our suite. We picked a great game to go to... if you like fights! And Logan totally does! The Grizzlies got killed, but there were some pretty crazy fights. The first one started with 2 SECONDS off the clock! It was crazy! They threw their gloves off and started punching as soon as the whistle sounded. I guess it is a pretty intense rivalry. Logan was going NUTS cheering and got so excited every time there was a fight. It definitely made things more exciting! I think there were five different major fights with gloves off and punches and everything. Daddy was so sad he missed out!
Grandpa gave Logan $10 to spend on treats! He was so excited! Not that we needed any more food after our buffet in the suite, but Logan decided on an ice cream cone and a churro. He had a great night at the game and even though it was a little crazy to get down there, I am glad he got to go!

Since I had to be back in Salt Lake the next night for Disney on Ice, I decided that we would just stay over at my mom's and I let Logan MISS SCHOOL the next day - (Mar 10)! He thought that was the coolest thing ever! He loves school but missing a day just because made him so excited! Since we were missing school, I figured we had better go and do something fun, so we met up with my sister and went to the Children's Treehouse Museum in Ogden. The kids loved it!
Since they are doing some major renovations at the Ogden Temple, I thought it would be fun to take a pic of my kids in front of it before it looks so different. They didn't cooperate very well though...
The fish are always a BIG hit! They love to look for Nemo!
Avery loved her first trip to the Treehouse Museum! She especially loved that she could be so independent and do so many things on her own. She is very adventurous and keeping track of her is getting to be quite the task. (And the bandaid on her face is so she won't rip out her stitches...)
Rylee making up a tea party for Avery and Ethan
Logan loved climbing up to the top of the tree and dropping down parachutes and then doing it over and over.
One of their favorite places to play was the music room - They all liked trying out the instruments and stayed there for a long time.

Rylee playing with some teeth. She also really liked looking into the microscope.
Ry reading
Logan loved playing on this map! It would ask trivia and then you would go and try and find the spot on the map and it would light up. He loves games like this!
Another favorite part for the kids was the medieval section. They played there for awhile. Avery loved the sword in the stone but she was SO mad it wouldn't come out!
Rylee loved this part because of all the many dress ups they had! She loved putting on costumes and coming out and saying in the microphone, "We proudly present Rylee Webber" or "We proudly present the Princess Rylee". She LOVES to perform and she LOVES to have a microphone!
She dressed Avery up, too...
Logan hard at work on this knight puzzle.
Rylee in another of her costumes
We HAD to ride this horse!
They had a little barn with some life size animals in it and you could actually milk the cow. Well... I think it was just water coming out, but it seemed real for the kids and they all loved this, but especially Ethan. Grandma would squirt the water in his mouth and he would laugh and want to do it over and over again. There was also a sheep in there that moved and made sounds. Avery was hilarious! She couldn't stop watching it, but it also terrified her! She wouldn't get close to it, but she would say Hi and wave over and over. It was so funny to watch.
My girls always love playing in kitchens! They were playing so cute together in here.
Taking a ride on the fire truck. Avery LOVED driving!
Avery and Ethan - They didn't get along so great that day. Probably because they always wanted the SAME thing! Like they both wanted to drive this fire truck and it didn't end well.... But this is the only picture of them together that day.

Rylee LOVED the school! She wanted to tell everyone what to write and especially liked to be the teacher. I love the pic she drew. After a little bit, a school group came in of much older kids and they were the teachers. I thought Rylee would get a little intimated and want to leave, but she just did everything they wanted her too, like a good little student. It was cute!
Avery loved taking care of these babies in the nursery.
Just to prove I was there...
One more try for all the kids in one picture on the firetruck. I love Avery's hat in this one!

Grandma Boman was able to get off work a little early and hang out with us for a little while there and then we all went to lunch at the Pizzaria. It was a little crazy with all of the kids who were really tired and hungry, but it was a really fun day! Thanks Aunt Heather and Ethan and Grandma for coming along with us! After lunch, we had to get back to Grandma's house so Rylee and I would be ready for our BIG date to Disney on Ice! YEAH!!!
