This post is totally random but just a few funny recent things that have happened. I really like journaling some of the funny things my kids do and this is the best way I have found to remember to do it. Here are some things from this week...
Avery performed her very own frenectomy this week. If you aren't sure what that is, don't feel bad. I wouldn't either if I wasn't married to a Dentist. It is basically a procedure where they have to cut back the little piece of skin that connects the gums to the lip right in the front of your mouth. Sometimes it is too tight and can cause the teeth to have a gap between the 2 front teeth. Avery's is like that and Darren has always thought he would probably have to eventually cut hers. Well... Not anymore! She did it herself! I put her down for a nap the other day and she cried for a really long time, which isn't normal. So, after about 15 minutes I went in and she had some blood on her face and shirt and was saying "ow, ow" and pointing to her mouth. I couldn't see anything in there and she isn't getting any teeth, so I was a little confused, but I laid down with her on my bed and she finally calmed down and went to sleep. Later that day, Darren discovered that she had ripped her frenum! It looked gross, but he said it is fine and now he won't have to do that later. I guess that is what she results to when she is mad.... We might have to be a little careful with her!
Avery has also started this funny new thing where she wants to ride everything like a pony. When we visited our friend's in Boise, they do this fun little rhyme about a pony named Jack and they bounced her and she loved it! Now she will climb on you and start bouncing and say "po" for pony. It is pretty funny!
Avery has also started hating going to bed. She was doing GREAT for awhile and would say "ni-ni" so sweet when you would lay her down, but for the last week she has been crying just about every night. As soon as I finish singing to her, she will say "la" over and over while I am putting her in her bed which I finally figured out means that she wants another song. It is so sweet she usually gets at least one extra song out of me, but it is never enough. She always wants more!
The other morning Rylee went into the potty and Avery followed her. (Avery likes to try and help Rylee wipe...Its not such a great thing!) We could hear Rylee saying something about being out of "wiping paper". She usually SCREAMS for us repeatedly (in a not so nice way!) when she is done going potty to come and wipe her, but a few minutes later she just came out of the bathroom. We asked her why she didn't call us and she said she wiped herself. Darren said, "I thought there wasn't any toilet paper." Rylee said, "We were out of wiping paper, so I just used some blow your nose paper instead."
It seems since Rylee has been potty trained we have a lot of potty related discussions, so sorry for that. The other day, she came rushing in to go potty and sat down to go while I was doing my hair. She was rather bothered that she had to stop playing to go potty and she said in a very frustrated tone, "Ugh! I wish I didn't have to go to the bathroom!" Then, she thought for a second and said, "At least I wish I was a boy and could just stand up to go potty!"
Last night at dinner, we had cantaloupe. Rylee LOVES fruit and wanted a 4th helping when I told her she had probably had enough. She asked why she couldn't have more and I told her she might get a tummy ache and have problems going potty. She said, "I wish I was still 3!" I asked why and she said," Then I could eat as much fruit as I want and just poop it out in my diaper." Good table talk, for sure!
Mr Logan had his BIG Kindergarten program this week. He did awesome and was such a passionate and animated singer! We loved watching him. He loved all those songs and I am sure he will probably be weird like me and still remember them when he is 30 years old. (I still sing songs from 1st grade all the time...) Besides singing, the kids also did the Virginia Reel, which was so cute with their partners! But my favorite part of the program was when the boys did a poi ball dance. It was awesome! Logan's face was bright red because he was so intense on his spinning! I loved it! At the end, the teacher presented each kid with a special memory book. When Logan went up, I told him he needed to look at Mom and Dad so we could take his picture. I said he could hug his teacher if he wanted. He watched the other kids for a minute and said, "No mom. Just a handshake!" But, when he went up, he gave his teacher a BIG hug! She told me after how touched she was by it. Logan is such a sweet and tender boy. I just love him!
This weekend, my family went up to the cemetery near by to see where my Grandpa was buried. It has been a tradition ever since I could remember on Memorial Day weekend since my Grandpa died when my dad was very young and none of us ever knew him. As soon as we stepped out of the car, Logan saw the LARGE marker by our family plots that says, "BOMAN" and he pointed and said rather matter of factly, "Oh. I see where Jeff is going to die." (Jeff is my 18 year old brother) It was hilarious! He was pretty funny in the cemetery though and really studied my Grandpa's grave marker for quite awhile. Today, we were talking about what we were going to do tomorrow and he said, "It's Memorial Day. We just have to remember all our Great-Grandpas who died." He was pretty serious about it and it was just funny the way he said it. You probably had to be there...
Yesterday, after the cemetery, my brothers came over and played Kinect with Logan for awhile. Logan is EXTREMELY competitive and HATES to lose....(I have NO idea where that trait comes from...) He somehow was matched against my brother Brad, who is 16. He actually beat him in the first 2 games they tried. Then, was boxing. Logan was winning, but it ended up being a draw and Logan was quite upset. They were about to start a new game and Logan said,"I'm done! I'm not playing anymore." When we asked him why he said, "Brad almost beat me in boxing and I'm supposed to be a professional!" Just typing it doesn't really do it justice... You needed to see his intensity, but it was pretty funny!
Wow...I thought this would be just a short little post, but I guess I had more to say than I thought. I need to do better at writing all my funny conversations with my kids! They always make my day better!

May Highlights
Here are a few of the highlights from our month of May.
Avery just looking cute and growing up way too quickly!!! (May 2)
Rylee is the funniest girl! She is such a mommy and here she is with all her babies and stuffed animals tucking them all in. She is the reason my house is never clean! She can't just get out one thing - She has to get out ALL this stuff! (May 6)
My cute soccer girl at her last game. I'm not sure that soccer is really her thing, but she had a lot of fun playing for her first time. (May 6)
These weird birds were out in the field behind our house one day. You can't really tell from the picture, but they were HUGE! Logan called them dinosaur birds! (May 11)
Darren got some tickets for a Real Game for a friend for his birthday, but because of the Jazz playoffs, they changed the time of the game, and his friend couldn't go, so we all ended up going instead. It wasn't the #1 way I would have picked to spend Mother's Day weekend, but we had a good time. Real beat the Philadelphia Union 3-0. (May 8)
The girls - Rylee LOVED these funny clapper sticks they passed out. She kept losing them because of the wind and had to chase them down over and over!
The kids cheering for Real - Avery loves to clap!
I was spoiled by my fabulous husband and kids for Mother's Day. I had to get up kind of early to be ready for church, but I knew Logan had plans for breakfast in bed, so I took a quick shower and then got back in bed to wait for them to finish. They were SO excited to bring me my special breakfast!
I am so blessed!!! I love being a mom! (May 9)

Logan finished up his soccer season, too. He did a great job and improved a lot and loved playing with all his friends and having Dad for a coach. (May 15)
We spent a lot of May out working in the yard. The kids loved playing outside any chance they could. They love running in the field behind our house and chasing butterflies! Don't we live in a beautiful place? I love it! (May 17)
Ry likes to hide in the field so we can't see her and then jump out!
I love it when they play together
Logan - I don't know why but his eyes are closed in almost every picture I take of him these days
Rylee picking up sticks - She is my outdoor girl and loves to be outside! She will dig in the mud and dirt with the best of them.
Avery had her first big girl bath, and the kids LOVED having her in there!
Now we can say "Rub-A-Dub, dub, 3 kids in the tub!" because they can all take a bath together! Avery loved being in with the kids, too. She had so much fun! (May 22)
Ry started potty training. (May 25)This is her with her first BIG potty treat and some of her Swedish fish. I made a Princess chart and each time she went, she put a sticker on it and got 3 Swedish Fish (5 for poop). At the end of each row of the chart, she could pick a bigger prize, like this book. She did great for a few days, and then she didn't really seem to care anymore. We have been doing it on and off for awhile, but it doesn't seem to be really clicking and Rylee doesn't really seem to care. I keep waiting for her to really get it or trying to find something that would really motivate her, but so far, nothing has really worked. Maybe when Logan starts school and we get into a routine, she will do better.... I don't know! Suggestions are appreciated....
Avery turned EIGHT months old!!! (May 25)
For Memorial Day weekend, my family came up on Saturday and hung out for a little bit and we visited my Grandpa's grave. It was a chilly day, but it was good to spend time with the fam and remember my Grandpa. This is the traditional picture at the cemetery. (May 29)
They look a little cold! Isn't it May???
With my Grandma. I never had a chance to meet my Grandpa Boman - he passed away when my dad was only 5 years old. The trips to the cemetery each year are kind of the only connection I have with him, so I like going each year. We didn't get a chance to visit my other Grandpa's grave this year, and I was a little sad about that. I thought about him a lot in the month of May, since it is Memorial Day, but also the month he passed away and the month of his birthday. I miss him! I have thought about him a lot lately - How I wish that Logan could have gone fishing with him. I would have LOVED for Logan to have his first fishing trip with my grandpa. How I know my grandpa would have LOVED Logan and his funny personality and would have gotten a kick out of the funny things he says and would love to tease him, especially about his "girlfriends". How my sweet Ry and my grandpa shared such a special bond from the time she was born. I wish she could have known him longer. I know he would love her little spitfire personality! I wish he could have met Avery! He loved babies and had such a way with them. Even Rylee who would never go to anyone, would go to my Grandpa. He was kind of a "baby whisperer" and Rylee would always seem to fall asleep in his arms. I miss his funny jokes and visiting his house and seeing all the amazing things he would create from wood. I know he would have loved to give Rylee some gummy worms and then tell her she couldn't share them with Logan - they were only hers and then watch Logan's face. I know he would have laughed while Logan got upset and Rylee kept the worms to herself and would have loved watching them sort that one out. He always loved to tease! I am so happy that we don't have to see him in pain. It was hard watching him that last year or so. I just wish we hadn't been so far away for so long and that my kids would have known him better.
After visiting the cemetery, we made a stop at Casper's for Ice Cream! Yummy!!!
Rylee always gets PINK ice cream!
Avery and Aunt Vanessa
While we were at the cemetery, Daddy stayed home and FINISHED the playground that took up most of our month of May! YEAH!!! We were SO excited!
The first trip down the slide!!!
Ry's turn - This was a BIG deal after how many hours it took to assemble. We have the BEST daddy!!!
Logan started a soccer camp on Memorial Day. It was a British Soccer Camp and he had so much fun going and especially LOVED his coaches from England. It was a good experience for him. (May 31)

After Logan finished his soccer camp, we made the drive down to hang out with Darren's family for the rest of Memorial Day. It was finally a nice day, after kind of a cold and rainy May, and the kids got to swim! They had lots of fun playing in the pool and seeing their cousins. Avery doesn't like the water unless it is warm (just like her mommy) so she hung out poolside looking cute.
Rylee swimming with Madi - Rylee wasn't too sure about the pool last year, but this year, we can't get her out! She loves it!
Avery loves that tongue!
Rylee - My Water baby
Logan is usually loving the pool, but I think he got a little cold and then he just wanted to be wrapped up in his towel. He looks so sweet cuddled up with his thumb. Once he was dry, he was off playing basketball and soccer with the big boys. He can't stay still for long so I have to capture him when I can!
Logan made me this cute flower at preschool and he was sick the day he was supposed to bring it home. He was so stressed about missing school and not getting my flower! Luckily, he has an awesome teacher who brought it to our house so he could give it to me. He was so proud of his creation and a little plant. He also made me a little note in Primary that said "Thank you for helping me clean my room. Love, Logan" I love this boy!!! He is SO sweet and so full of life!
I love this baby girl, too! She is getting so big so fast! She is the sweetest and easiest baby ever and she has been such a joy in our house!
Rylee made me this cute little flower pot with suckers at nursery. They did a special little treat in the nursery and had all the moms come in and join them for a little ice cream. Ry was so cute in there and it was so fun to have that time with her. I loved it! I love my little princess! She is SO full of personality and makes every day interesting at our house!

Memorial Day
Now that my high school reunion is over, I have time for blogging again and maybe I will catch up soon! YEAH! Here is how we spent our Memorial Day Weekend (almost 2 months ago!)
My grandpa on my dad's side died when my dad was only 5 years old, so I never got the chance to meet him. In our family, we have always gone during Memorial Day weekend to visit his grave in Cache Valley. Now that we live nearby, my family came up on Sunday to visit us and have dinner with us and then we stopped by the cemetery. It was so fun to have them all up to visit and have more room than our last house! My kids had lots of fun seeing the cemetery - I think they thought the big, grassy area was a park. It was a little hard to keep them from running all over the place.

Our little family at the cemetery
Darren went to play soccer with his brothers really early Monday morning, so I stopped at my family's for a bit on my way down. Me and Rylee got haircuts and Aunt Heather styled Rylee's hair so cute, we had to take a few photos, which Rylee loved! I think I posted some of these, but I can't remember, so they may be repeats, but she is really cute!!!

She is such a cheeser!!!
She loves to show her attitude!!!
Next, we headed down to the Webber's for a Memorial Day BBQ and swimming. The kids always love that!
Logan and Rylee all ready to swim. My sister-in-law picked up this swimsuit for me for Rylee and I thought it was so cute on her...Thanks again Carla! Notice Logan's poor skinned knees - He fell really hard at the Willow Park Zoo a few days earlier! So sad!
Logan loves swimming and would stay in the pool all day if we let him! He moves around so much in the pool it is really hard to get pictures of him.
Rylee wasn't too sure about getting in the water. I think there were a few too many people and some of the older kids made her too nervous...
She tried swimming for a little bit with Dad, but she didn't last too long!

She was much happier sitting poolside with Grandpa Bill!

She also LOVED her cousin Raegan's water wings - I think she thought they were a fun accessory like a bracelet. We have since bought her her own pair and now she LOVES to swim!
Me and the kids stayed down on Monday night to go get Rylee's two year pictures done on Tuesday (will be posted soon!) On the way home, we stopped in Ogden to see my Grandpa Dick's grave. It was the first memorial day without him, so it was a little sad for me. I took Logan to the store and had him pick out a fishing lure to put on Grandpa's grave, since my Grandpa loved fishing. He thought it was neat to put it on the little fish at the grave and insisted on hooking it on himself.
Logan was so sweet at the cemetery! He asked if Great-Grandpa was dead and then said "Its OK mom. I don't have to be sad. I know Great-Grandpa will be resurrected and I can see him again." It was so sweet! I love seeing his knowledge of the gospel and testimony grow!
