Spooky Fun Night

Oct 22 - After Rylee took her mummy dogs to preschool for the snack, the kids were begging me to make them again. On this Saturday, we all went to the Aggie football game together and then our Dad headed to the Real game with a friend. For dinner, I decided since Daddy wasn't around, we could do mummy dogs. We also thought of a few more fun things to go with it to make it a fun Halloween dinner. It definitely was not much of an adult dinner, but the kids loved it! They had a great time helping me make stuff and using their creativity to come up with some fun spooky foods. It was totally last minute, so it was nothing fancy, but it was a fun dinner! Ready to enjoy their spooky dinner
We had Mummy dogs
Carrot fingers
Eyeballs
And mummy pizzas - So much fun! Then, some friends called and invited us to go to the Pumpkin Walk by our house with them. The kids were SO excited! It gets super crowded at night, but we went before it was too crazy and had a great time! Logan loved the Angry Birds pumpkinsAvery got really excited when she saw a Mickey! Some friends in our ward did this Winnie the Pooh one and it was so cute! Avery loves Pooh Bear! Rylee loved Rapunzel, of course! This witch sits at the end of the pumpkin walk. My kids were pretty nervous about her and kept their distance, but then Rylee just went up and started chatting with her and said she wanted a picture.
Since Rylee wasn't scared of the witch, soon our whole little crew was chatting with her, so we got a picture of the whole group. Minus Stephanie because she was taking the picture. Mom, Avery, Savanna, Rylee, the witch, Hallie, Logan and Carter. We had a great time with our friends! Thanks for inviting us! The kids' favorite part of the pumpkin walk is always these silly cut-outs. We only took this one picture that night, but when we went back during the day later in the week, I think we had to take one with EVERY single cut-out! Rylee really liked being Arial! She insisted on a picture before she would leave. To get to and from the Pumpkin Walk, we had to park and then take a shuttle because there isn't enough parking there. The kids like the bus ride almost as much as anything else! Here are Savanna and RyleeLogan and Avery riding the bus
Before we had plans to go to the Pumpkin Walk, the kids picked a Halloween treat at the store and I told them we could watch a Halloween show that night. So, when we got back from the pumpkin walk, they still really wanted to even though it was a little late. We watched the Charlie Brown Halloween special (our favorite) and had cookies. A great way to end our night!
What a fun night! I have the greatest kids and loved just hanging out with them and making some fun memories. I had some major guilt that month about not being the best mom because I was so sick and this night helped me to feel a little better and I think was something the kids and I both really needed!
