Oct 30 - 31 - Our Halloween celebrations started a day early this year. Grandma
Boman always has a big party on Halloween with chili and
bread sticks and cinnamon rolls and TONS of people. We couldn't make it down for her big shin-dig, so we all got together a day early on Sunday for dinner and the kids put on their costumes and show off a little.

Oct 31 - Both the kids had Halloween parties at school and were so excited to wear their costumes!

Rylee made this adorable Monster cupcake at her school. I had to hurry and get a picture because she couldn't wait to eat it!
I had to go help with Logan's class party and was in charge of the treat, so we ate doughnuts from a string. I don't know if any of the kids' mouths were really big enough for the doughnuts, but they all got at least a few bites before they gave up!

I had to take the girls with me and Avery was so happy to get a doughnut, too.
After all the partying, we went home and took a little break and then had dinner. Grandma
Boman was nice enough to send us home with some of her famous chili so we wouldn't miss out on that tradition. We also had mummy dogs again since they kids loved them so much. Then, we headed to a Trunk-or-Treat at the neighbor's. I am a little bit against Trunk-or-Treats. I think it is more fun to do traditional door to door trick-or-treating. But, since most of our neighborhood was going there, it only made sense to go there, too. It ended up being a lot of fun. The kids got to see most of their friends in one place and they also had hot dogs and doughnuts and hot chocolate.

Once we got home, I asked the kids if they wanted to trick-or-treat at a few houses on our street. Logan refused! He got a little scared at a couple houses last year, and so he didn't want to go trick-or-treating at all and was so happy when the neighbors had a trunk-or-treat. Then, there was some guy dressed up really scary at the trunk-or-treat with a big wolf mask on and he was freaked out! All my kids were and it actually scared me a little, too. Avery still talks about the "guy at Trick-or-treats. He so scary!" So, he and dad stayed home and me and the girls headed to a few more houses. After about a half hour, we called it a night and came home to watch some Halloween specials and let the kids dig into their loot. It was a fun Halloween!

Avery was a little upset that her hair wasn't black, but I thought we did a pretty good job putting her costume together since there wasn't one you could buy.
