October 23, 2011 - There was a lot of anticipation about Uncle Jeff's mission call. Grandma and Grandpa Boman and Jeff, Brad and Kyle and Vanessa and Brian left on a family vacation to Disneyland on Tuesday afternoon and his call arrived Wednesday morning, so we all had to wait several days for him to open it! We threatened to open it a few times. Especially Heather since she had been the one to pick the call up. She was also giving him false information about how much postage was on the envelope, because supposedly that determines whether or not you are going out of the states. (That proved to be an incorrect theory in Jeff's case!) Anyway, the Disneyland travelers back home Sunday evening and we all gathered to watch him open it. What a special memory!!! I don't think there were many dry eyes as he read that he was called as missionary to serve in the Georgia Atlanta North mission! He was SO excited! I was so glad that my kids got to see that.

Jeff had invited lots of friends over to watch him open his call, so we made sure to stake out a good seat to watch! Logan, Daddy, Avery, Mom, Uncle Dean, Aunt Laura and Rylee
Brian and Vanessa
Heather, Jay, Ethan and Logan
All of Jeff's homies and Grandma
Both Great-Grandma's, Grandpa with the video camera, Bishop Butt and his wife, Brad and some more homiesGreat-Grandmas
The big moment....
Kyle is really listening! What a good example Jeff is for his nephews, brothers and friends by serving!
We had a little pool to guess where Jeff might serve and Jeff guessed his very own mission! Pretty awesome!
Hugs from GrandpaAfter the call, we hung out for a bit with the family. Rylee got Aunt Laura to help her with this look and find book.
Avery enjoying a ice cream popsicle after the call - Her and Ethan were also working on a puzzleYummy! Oh...that face!!!
Logan, Avery and Rylee with their Uncle Jeff. We are SO proud of him but we will miss him so much!!! Me and Avery with my cute little brother who is now taller than me and who will soon be a missionary! So crazy!!! I was about 12 when Jeff was born and I feel like he should still be so little! He used to entertain my friends in high school by doing choreographed routines to Barney and Back Street Boys and spinning on his head. When we got married, Jeff was only 10! It seems impossible that he could be old enough to go on a mission. He has been so great to help with our kids and babysit or just come and hang out at our house for the weekend. And he wants to be an Aggie, so that makes us love him even more...hehe! He has spent a lot of time with us lately and we will sure miss him a lot!
We are so proud of Jeff and know he will be a great missionary for the people of Georgia! He enters the MTC on January 11. Let the countdown begin!!!
