Things I {hEarT}

I really thought that I posted this back in February, but I just noticed I never did.... I hate when I do stuff like that! Better late than never I guess...

Feb 2011 - With Valentine's Day this month, I have been reflecting on some things I truly lOvE and I have realized that many of the things that make me the happiest and bring me the biggest smile are the simple, little everyday things. Most of them have to do with being a mom to 3 great kids! Here are some examples...
My little Sports nut pouring over the newspaper and sports page each morning. He loves to check all the scores! I love it!
My little reader.... Watching Logan read and learn makes me SO happy! He will disappear quite often and I will find him somewhere with a book...or a Sports Illustrated. Lately, all of his favorite things to read are books about nature. He loves books about animals and learning all about them and he remembers so much!
My little Aggie fan! Everything is about the Aggies with this little boy right now and I love how passionate he is about them. Both his teacher at school and church have commented on how much he tells them about the Aggies. I love that when Logan loves something, he REALLY loves it! He is just a boy who is so enthusiastic about life and the things are important to him and it is so sweet! These are some posters Logan made for the WAC playoffs. I find these kinds of things all over the house all the time! It always makes me smile!
Logan also has an obsession with numbers and lately everything is about scores. I find papers EVERYWHERE with scores on them, like this one...
and this one! And he can remember the scores to the Aggie games weeks later! It is crazy!!!
Here is another example of his number obsession! He had to write numbers on all his Valentine's "jerseys". How funny is that? The other day, he also brought home a little book he had made at school. There was one page that was just covered with random numbers all over the picture he had made. I asked him what they were for, and he said he just felt like having numbers on the paper. It just made me laugh...

Everyday when I sent Rylee to get dressed, I know that it should be a good laugh with what she comes up with. If we have to go somewhere, there are frequent battles over what she can wear and what matches, but when we are just at home, I let her choose and it is another thing that frequently makes me smile! Like this get-up!!!
Her Tinkerbell Halloween costume that is too small over her PJs with her slippers and tons of accessories! I just love this fashionista!

Rylee makes some of the best drawings! I am constantly amazed at her drawings and love finding them around the house. This started out as the letter D, but then she made him into a little person.
Rylee's snowman drawing
How do you not smile at that? Rylee and her many faces!
I love finding things like this around the house. Rylee LOVES to set things up just so and everything has to be in lines or circles. It always makes me smile when I see little things around and know that it is Rylee's doing!
And more lining up... I just love this girl! She is really into her letters and the sounds they make. She always wants me to help her write and spell things, but she is so independent that she doesn't want me to physically help her write it. She always tells me, "Just write it in the air". So I will trace it in the air with my finger and she does a pretty good job copying. She is so independent and wants to do things her way and in her own time! If she would start using the potty, that would really make me smile!!!

This baby has a face for everything these days...
Happy - I love this face!!! She also likes to CHEESE!
This funny surprised face always makes me smile. She likes to do it right when I lay her down in the crib at night and I end up laughing all the way out of her room.
And the pouty face... how can I be mad when she does this? It is just too funny! And the attitude that goes along with it. A little scary, but still funny...at least for now. And where does she come up with this stuff???
Maybe from her...
This doesn't always make me smile, but the girl is TROUBLE! She is always into something and when you ask her if she is trouble, she will smile and nod YES! She loves to get into everything and some days it feels like all I do is clean up mess after mess, but she is SO funny and so curious. I just love this stage!
I spent a lot of the last few days cleaning off this. I seem to find it everywhere! I am trying to keep all pens and pencils hidden but Avery seems to find them and color on everything. I have been told many times that someday I will miss having little writing on the wall and messy handprints. Sometimes it doesn't feel like I possibly could, but I do believe that someday I will and for that reason, I took a picture of Avery's beautiful wall art. Because I will miss it...someday!

And while we are talking about the little things, I LOVE when my fabulous husband will do the dishes or clean the bathroom or watch one of the stupid shows I love that he hates (like the Batchelor) just to spend time with me. I am so blessed!

I {heArT} my Valentine's - all 4 of them!!!
