So, my blogging catch-up did not go all that well this past month! I have been overwhelmed with work stuff and I had the kids' pictures done, which always turns into projects and stress and it was Rylee's birthday! So...not so much blogging! I'm trying to get February posted. We'll see how long it takes...
Darren had to work late on Valentine's day this year, so we decided to do a fancy candlelight dinner on Sunday (Feb 13) with the whole family. I like to try and do little things here and there to make the holidays fun for the kids and they love it. The kids were so excited for a fancy dinner! And so was I! My hubby is SO good in the kitchen and makes the most delicious stuff for our special dinners. I am a lucky girl!
Ry posing with my Valentine flowers. She picked them out with Daddy on Friday before Valentine's. She couldn't wait for him to get home from work all day that day so they could go and pick out some flowers for me. She loves to do stuff like that and it was all her idea! Such a sweet girl!

We got a shrimp ring for the appetizer - Logan LOVES when we have an appetizer with dinner. He frequently will ask if we are having one of if something we are having is the appetizer. I think it is funny that he asks things like that and he is five! The kids went to TOWN on the shrimp ring - I'm pretty sure Logan and Rylee ate over half the ring between just the two of them!
Yummy...Shrimp!!!
Avery had her first taste of shrimp, too and she liked it! She even had a couple more.
Rylee loved helping to decorate our fancy table! She loves this kind of stuff and arranged and rearranged the candles and the candy hearts over and over!
My little Valentine's!!! I {hEarT} them!!!
This was almost a total disaster - Avery LOVED pulling the tablecloth! I guess that is one reason we don't use one that often...
I love when they love each other!
This baby is happy when she eating and she LOVES her some tomatoes! We had salad, steak, mushrooms, asparagus and yummy mashed potatoes!
Me and my baby!!! He is one HOT Valentine! I {heArT} him, too!!!
My pretty PINK flowers....Can you tell Rylee picked them?
Boys being silly...
Can you tell how much they love each other???
Me and my Ry
Silly faces for us, too.
And poor Avery was strapped in her booster seat for all the fun! She is eating, so she is happy!
For dessert, we had one of my favorite things - FONDUE! I found a fabulous recipe for it in the crockpot! It is just symphony bars and cream and it is delicious! We dipped strawberries, cheese cake bites, marshmallows, pretzels and bananas. Last time we did this, the kids weren't that into it, but this time they loved it!
Avery was a total mess, but she loved it! Her favorite was the marshmallows!
Rylee wasn't that into dipping. She ate a little here and there, but she didn't really care if she dipped it in chocolate or not. She also liked to use the toothpicks to make lovely creations more than eating. She is a funny girl!
We had another candlelight dinner just a few nights later, but not on purpose. Our power was out for over two hours! The boys went to an Aggie game and me and the girls were stuck at home with just a little flashlight and a couple candles. It was a little rough, but we had fun reading books and doing some flashlight dancing and shadow puppets on the wall. It took a little creativity, but we had a good time together and did lots of laughing with all our silliness!
