Avery at 11 months

I am so proud of myself! I am actually finishing this 11 month post before Avery is one! Dang it!!! I started this post with big plans to be done before then, but it didn't happen.... Will I ever catch up??? Here is a little bit about Avery from July 26 - Aug 25.
July 29 - We went with my family up to Dawnetta Hot Springs. It was a really fun little trip. This is Avery modeling my sunglasses - Love it!
Avery and Grandpa Boman
Avery loved these little fountains and had so much fun playing in them!

Avery and Rylee playing together

Avery and Daddy
We went out to eat with the family after at Sizzler and Avery was so excited when they gave her a balloon! She loved it! She even figured out how to pull down the string to get the balloon down to her right away. It was cute!
August 2 - Avery trying out the bike for the first time. She loved it! She loves anything outside and is so happy when we play out there.
Aug 6 - We took a quick trip down to the Brigham City pool and met my sister and brothers for a fun day of swimming and some girls from my ward.
Avery having some yogurt - Yummy! It is the ONLY thing I can get her to eat from a spoon. She loves it!
Avery chilling in her floatie - We even took her on her first waterslide this day and she seemed to really like it! My poor sister took little Ethan, too, but they went under water when they came off the slide and he didn't really like it. Luckily, Avery avoided that and she even went again with Uncle Jeff, which had Mommy pretty nervous, but she was great!
Avery and Uncle Jeff
Aug 6 - Avery has started becoming quite the independent eater and wants nothing to do with me feeding her, so we are experimenting with other foods since she won't eat baby food. I think her new favorite is spaghetti! She had her first taste at my mom's house and she couldn't shove it in fast enough!!! Funny girl!
She was a little curious about the noodles...

Aug 8 - 45 weeks! She is getting SOOO big!!!

Love that smile!!!

Aug 8 - It looks like she is about to eat Logan, but Avery loves to give kisses!!! They are all open mouth like this one. She is so sweet!
Some for daddy, too.
Aug 11 - This was the day that she was playing her funny stand up with no hands game. It was cracking me up, but I never got a very good picture of it. She would stand up to the couch, and then put her hands up in the air and stand up by herself and then fall into the couch or down on her bum and then laugh and laugh. I love when they discover funny little tricks like that! It kept her (and us) entertained for 20 minutes or more!
Aug 11 - Avery was the victim of Rylee's dressups! Rylee wanted her in a Princess outfit and Avery seemed to quite like it. I guess we have another little Princess in the making.
Cute sisters! I love when they play together.
Aug 12 - Avery at the rodeo. She loved to clap and she LOVED the horses! She got so excited when they went by and she even had a little sound she would make for them. It was so cute! She would wave when they rode by.

Aug 13 - We went to the Cache County Fair, and I had to have Avery try the pony ride since she loved the horses so much at the rodeo. I didn't know how she would do, but she seemed to quite like it.
She looks a little nervous, but she really did have fun.
She was clicking her tongue as she rode along and nodding her little head forward.

Avery at the fair - 46 weeks
Avery looking at the chickens. She was pretty intense looking at some of the animals.
Avery watching Logan and Rylee try the rides. She loved standing up to this railing and she was dancing and bouncing along. It was pretty funny!
Aug 15 - Playing in the toyroom with Dancing Brobee. She LOVES this toy! She loves anything that makes music, but she especially loves that this toy dances around and she dances with it.
Ready to try some cake on Daddy's birthday - I love how she is chillaxing in the high chair! What a pose!
Aug 16 - We took a trip to the bowling alley and Avery had a lot of fun!
Rylee REALLY wanted to hold Avery
Avery really wanted to get the bowling balls. She kept trying to lick them for some reason and we were all laughing. She was also very interested in the fan!
Aug 18 - Avery is NOT a good sleeper. Especially lately. I keep hoping it is just teeth or something. She has a bad habit of sleeping in our bed after she wakes up (because Mommy is too lazy to put her back to bed and it is easier to just let her sleep with me.) One morning, we woke up and Darren said "where is Avery?" I knew that she had been in the bed with me during the night and I even remembered her there not that long ago when one of the other kids woke up or something. We started looking around the room and then we found her in the pile of socks in the corner....
Not sure how this happened but she looks pretty cozy! I guess that laundry is good for something!

Aug 18 - My sister does hair and she always is the one to cute each of my kids' hair for the first time. I was a little nervous for her to do Avery's. They always look SO much older once you cut their hair!
In the chair, ready for the cut
Here is a before with her crazy wings
Here she is in the cute little cape. She was pretty good during her haircut.

After - It is hard to tell, but she did get quite a trim and it looks so cute!
After - No more crazy wings! Thanks Aunt Heather
Aug 19 - We made a quick day trip up to Bear Lake. We love that place and it made me sad that we hadn't made more trips up there during the summer. We wanted to, but things were always so busy! Avery LOVED it! She was a mess from all the sand that she ate and that ended up in her diaper but she had lots of fun.
I love this picture
And this one, too.

Covered in sand!
We had to stop and get a famous raspberry shake after playing at the beach. Avery LOVES ice cream!!!

Aug 20 - Avery pushing Rylee's baby stroller. She took a few steps behind it before she toppled over. Won't be long now!
Aug 23 - Avery eating some more pasta! She loves it - I love messy baby pictures for some reason. This is one of her new funny faces recently. She looks kind of down and then up with her eyes and does some really funny expressions. It always makes me laugh!

Aug 25 - Avery LOVES the remote!!! Why is it that babies are always so fascinated by these things? Maybe because everyone else around her seems to be. She also really loves to phone - She is always holding things to her ear and pretending they are a phone (or even just her hand) and saying what sounds like Hello (" 'lo") and it is so cute!
Future couch potato!
Avery - 11 months
She is getting so hard to get pictures of now - she is always on the move!
About to eat some dirt - EVERYTHING goes straight into her mouth!
Peek-A-boo

Oh, I love this girl!
Aug 26 - Avery playing at the park. She no longer just sits and watches the other kids, she wants to get out there and play, too. She thought she was pretty tricky trying to climb up this slide.

Aug 26 - I got out this little walker thing to see what Avery would do with it and she took off! She went all the way down the driveway and the sidewalk without really stopping. I was so surprised! I had no idea she could do that!

On the move!!!
Avery has some funny teeth right now - I call her our Jack-o-Latern! She has cut THREE teeth this month, so she now has four. She only has one on the bottom and 3 on the top but she is missing one of her front top ones, so there is a big space. I think it is pretty funny! I have been trying so hard to get a good picture of her funny smile, but this is the best I have done so far. She cut the bottom one last month, and then she got her first top one on Aug 14. It wasn't even her front one though - it was her left upper one next to the front tooth. She then cut her right top front tooth on August 17 and on Aug 18, the right one next to her front one popped through. What a funny order they are coming in! I don't think my other kids came in that way.

Avery is really on the go now. She is no longer just a content little baby - She is everywhere! As soon as we got back from our Disney vacation, she started climbing the stairs. At first she started by doing about 2 of them, and by Aug 20, she could climb them all and she is really fast, too! I was a little worried about her going up them, especially since once she had it figured out, that is all she did all day was climb up them and I spent all day chasing her up them worrying she might fall down. As soon as she would get to the top, she would stand up and then yell for me to come or just sit there and wait. It was pretty funny and she looked so proud of herself! I have been worried about her falling and wanted to get her a gate, but Darren said to just let her figure it out and she has! On Aug 26, I was running around doing some cleaning upstairs and couldn't find where Avery had gone to. I looked down and she was sitting there on the landing so proud of herself. She had turned herself around and gone down the stairs all on her own! Little stinker!!!

Besides climbing the stairs, she is also so fast at crawling and now has free reign of the house and goes wherever she wants. She loves to get into my cupboards and is a little busy body. She also is starting to get quite daring about walking. She walks along pretty much everything - she will hold onto the couch, the wall or whatever to get where she wants to go. She will even take a little step or two between things when she needs to and is getting more and more brave about going between things. She also likes to grab the back of my pants and just walk along with me. It is so funny and she looks so proud of herself while she is doing it. She has also taken a few steps between Darren and I here and there. My mom says she walked between her and my dad when she was watching her on Aug 18 and I think that was her very first time taking a step. She has done it here and there a few times since, but never more than about 3 steps. She can really cruise behind the little shopping cart or the walker and goes way faster than I was prepared for! She can stand up by herself now for the most part. She can even stand without pulling herself up and is pretty steady for a good 10 or 20 seconds. Her favorite game is to stand up and put her little arms up above her head and then fall into the couch or into our arms. She thinks it is hilarious and will do it over and over again and laugh and laugh.

She hates to have her knees scraped up so a lot of the time she does a funny bear crawl with her bum way up in the air. It makes us laugh and we call her our little Mowgli.

Avery is a little girl who knows what she wants! She loves food - or at least certain foods. If I don't get it to her fast enough, she gets MAD and she grits her little fists and kind of growls at me. For being such a sweet and pretty baby, she has the funniest growly gruff voice! She is very independent at eating and doesn't want anything to do with being fed from a spoon (except for yogurt) so we are experimenting with other things that she can eat herself. She LOVES peas and will always pick those out if I put them on the tray with other things. She loves eating whatever we are eating and isn't really a fan of baby foods. She also likes banans and raviolis and she LOVED spaghetti when she tried it this month. She did gag on the noodles a few times, which was a little funny, but she couldn't get it in fast enough. She also loves her snacks - she loves her puffs, but her favorites are her little crunchies in her snack cup. When she wants more, she definately lets you know and when she is finished, she lets you know even more. I think that is her best sign - finished! She flails her little arms all around and starts to scream a little if you don't get her out of the chair fast enough.

Before we went to California, Avery was doing pretty well with sleeping, but since we have come home, she is AWFUL! I don't know if it is the teething or the messed up schedule or what, but she gets up 4 or 5 times a night sometimes all of a sudden and usually spends most of the night sleeping in our bed. I know I have developed awful sleeping habits with her because I am so dead tired and can't really get up and get her back down, so I just let her sleep by me. It is getting exhausting so I hope it gets better soon!

Avery is getting so much more personality these days. She is kind of a silly girl and loves to entertain us and she is laughing so much more. She loves Logan and Rylee and always wants to be part of what they are doing. She LOVES to play Peek-A-boo and she is always doing it somehow - whether she hides her face in my lap, or on my shoulder, or under a blanket, or in the couch. It is too cute! She even says "boo" so funny! I love it! She has started waving to people with her whole arm instead of just her little hand opening and closing backwards. She is especially good at waving good-bye or if we are outside she waves to anyone who is passing.

Avery LOVES music! Anytime music comes on, she will bounce up and down or click her tongue or something. Lately, she has started to "shake it" and will shake her little upper body and arms. It is so cute!!! She also loves all things electronic and loves to get the remote, which makes the other kids mad because she will change the channel. She LOVES phones and will hold anything that resembles a phone up to her ear and say "elo, elo" It is so cute!

Avery is obsessed with hats for some reason and tries to put everything she can on her head and even says something that sounds like "hat". It is pretty funny!

Avery LOVES to be outside!!! If I even walk close to the door or window, she gets excited and when I open the door, she lets out a squeal and her legs start going crazy! She still isn't too sure about the grass. If you put her on it, she kind of freezes and doesn't know what to do. She tried her bike this month and loved sitting on it and could get it to go backwards. She also LOVES her swing more than anything and would sit in it all day if someone would push her.

Avery is getting really good at communicating what she wants. Sometimes it is with her lovely screams, but she is starting to sign really well, too. She is REALLY good at nodding "yes" and does it very dramatically when you ask her if she wants something and she does. She always seems to be nodding about something - She also uses it to direct me to what she wants.

Some of the signs she can do now are: finished, more, eat, bath, milk, dog, mom, drink, and phone. She even has her own little sign she does - When she is crawling up the stairs, she will try and get you to follow her and open and close her little hand and say something like "mon", which I think is supposed to be "Come On" until you follow her. It is hilarious! She is also starting to do a few animal sounds - so far she can do a dog which is very high pitched "ar, ar, ar" and she can do a horsie, which she blows her lips together and shakes her head. She kind of became obsessed with horses and the sound after having her first pony ride at the fair. It is hiliarious! I love our little Avery! She is at such a fun age and is learning and changing so much and so fast!!!
