Avery at 10 months

Avery's 10 month update post (a month and a half late...) from June 26 - July 25. This was a VERY busy month for Avery! She started crawling and was all over the place in a matter of days. She is now the biggest busy body and into everything! She also started pulling up and got her first tooth and went on her first big vacation to Disneyland!!! On June 26, Grandma Boman turned the BIG 50 and Avery got to join the big girls for lunch out and a pedicure since Daddy was away at scout camp and she doesn't do too well with anyone else. She loved having a girls day out with Mom, Aunt Nessa and Aunt Heather and Grandma.
Avery's first taste of pancakes on June 27 - Logan's birthday! It was his birthday breakfast and she LOVED it!!!
Avery loves to stand up to anything! She especially loves to be in the kitchen while I am doing things. (June 28)
Avery loves her mama! She is kind of going through some serious separation issues right now and needs me all the time. I call her my little monkey because she seems to be holding onto my shirt like this all the time and it reminds me of a little baby monkey hanging onto their mom. (June 29)
Avery was one of the cutest guests at Logan's dino birthday (June 29) She loves a party!
For Logan's birthday, we had the kids dig dinosaur bones in this little pool that we filled with sand. Avery was in heaven! She loved playing in this pool. We even left it there for a few days because all 3 of our kids had so much fun, but especially Avery! She thought it was great.
We had a little BBQ to watch the stadium fireworks on July 2nd with my family. Avery chilled on the patio in her bumbo. It didn't last long though. She started trying to use her feet to scoot around and we had to get her out. She didn't last long enough to watch the fireworks though - She was in bed by then.
Avery celebrating the 4th with Dad's side of the family at Uncle Brian's. (July 3rd) Her first 4th of July!
Avery LOVES Raja, Brian and Val's dog. She looks like she is about to cry in this picture, but she played with Raja for a long time that day and would try and chase her around and didn't even mind being licked by her!
First 4th of July - All ready for church!

We did some fireworks with our friend's, the Jackman's that night. Avery loves her buddy Sarah.
Avery also got to try out her first sparklers. I don't think she quite knew what to think about that!

On July 5th, Avery had her 9 month well check appointment. Her are her stats:
She did great, but she did have another ear infection. I must be the worst mom ever! I never know when she has them! No shots this time!!!
Mommy and Avery at the Hyrum Parade on July 5th
Avery loving her first parade!

Looking sweet in her shades! Of course, she wouldn't keep them on
Avery's first trip to Willow Park Zoo. I can't believe that she hasn't gone sooner. We used to spend so much time there, but it has been awhile since we have gone. She loved it! She especially seemed to like all the ducks. (July 7)
Avery LOVES her swing - I love this funny expression on her face! Could her smile be any bigger? (July 7)

This is totally disgusting, but also a little bit funny! She seriously had this bubble on her nose forever! I should have been a good mom and grabbed her a tissue (which I did do eventually), but first I grabbed the camera... Rylee thought this was the funniest thing ever. (July 8)
Avery watching Logan and Rylee run through the sprinklers. She LOVES to be outside. Whenever you walk by the door, she starts kicking her legs and nodding her head toward the door and gets really excited. She isn't too sure about the grass. When I set her down, she will kind of hold up both legs off the grass because she doesn't like it to touch her. Sometimes it makes her fall over, which is kind of worse because then she really doesn't like it, but she won't roll. It is so funny! It kind of paralyzes her! She will try to crawl sometimes, but she won't want to put her hands down. It is funny to watch. (July 8)
Avery at her first Demolition Derby! Yep...we are THAT redneck! She loved it, or at least she was good during it. She seemed interested in the cars a little and in all the crazy people sitting around us. (July 10)
Avery - 41 weeks! (July 11)
Grrr...I hate it when the pictures don't turn!!! Avery with her cute piggies and crawling all over the place. It is so hard to get her to sit still now. (July 13)
Avery all ready for her FIRST BIG trip! We made the drive to California for the Webber family vacation. Don't let her fool you - She wasn't as happy as she was in this picture most of the time. She actually spent a good amount of our time in the car SCREAMING!!! After a lot of screaming, and trying just about everything we could think of to calm her down, Darren finally discovered that if we rolled down the window, she would eventually stop screaming. We couldn't decide if she just liked the noise, or if it just kind of took her breath away, but whatever the reason it was about the only thing that stopped the screaming, so we did it a lot of the way. Poor Avery! She really didn't like the car much at all! (July 17)
We went to Goofy's Kitchen for one of our first days of vacation and had dinner with all the characters. Avery had her first character encounter with Pluto and she really surprised me. I expected screaming or at least her being nervous, but she LOVED him! She wanted to go see him again and again and she kept signing Dog and getting really excited and waved at him over and over. It was so cute! (July 18)

Avery loved the food at Goofy's Kitchen - it was about the only thing that could keep her from watching the characters. She looks good in everything she eats!

Avery wanted to give Goofy a kiss
Avery with her very first Princess encounter - Jasmine and Sleeping Beauty and Grandma Pat

We spent a little time at the ESPN Zone and Avery always wanted to drive!

Avery loved hanging out at the pool (July 18)
Avery's first trip to the beach! She LOVED it and the sand went straight to her mouth. You would think once she tasted it, she would get over putting it in her mouth, but she just wanted more. She would get so mad when she would find a good size chunk of sand, and then try to pick it up and it would crumble! She really wanted to eat it! (July 19)

Avery playing with someone's boogy board. It looks like she wants to go for a ride. I love how sandy her legs are!
Avery at her first day at Disneyland!!! Our dad was sick on this day and didn't get to come with us - It was SO sad! (July 20)
Avery in her very first pair of ears! This is like a rite of passage in our family. I LOVED these Princess ones! They were so cute on her.
Avery on her FIRST Disney ride! I am wierd about these kind of things and remember each of my kids' first Disney rides - Logan's was Pirates of the Caribbean when he was 13 months old, Rylee's was Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters when she was about 2 1/2 months old and Avery's were the tea cups at 9 1/2 months old! And she LOVED them!!!
Avery really liked Small World - This is how she sat the whole ride - totally mezmerized! There was so much for her to look at - She loved it!
Avery on the Princess throne after the Princess Storytime. I love this Princess!

Avery's very favorite ride was probably the carousel. She was so happy on this ride and her cute little feet kicked the entire time because she was so excited! It was adorable! She had a really tight grip on the pole and didn't want to let go when it was over. I was worried when the ride started moving that she would get nervous, but she just loved it more.
Avery crashed out! She was the BEST baby while we were there even if she didn't get her regular feedings and things with how busy we were and would rarely fuss or anything and I didn't even know she was asleep until I stopped the stroller! Gotta Love the Disneyland naps - It doesn't look too comfortable!
Avery got to meet some more Princesses with Mom and Rylee - Mulan, Tiana and ARIEL!!!
Mom and Avery on Pirates - I love this sweet baby!
Avery back at the beach for another day of fun. She makes one cute little diva! (July 21)
This time she tried out the water a little bit, but she was still much more interested in the sand.

Avery sitting by the pool
Avery on our 2nd day of Disney waiting to meet Minnie (July 22)

Avery loved Mickey! She even tried to give him on kiss on the nose. I was so surprised she wasn't scared by the characters - I think they were her favorite thing!
Avery at Minnie's house
Giving Tigger a kiss

Cute Avery in her ears and with her little 1st Time Visitor button.

Avery really liked the Pooh ride too. She looked a little nervous, but she held so still and was so interested in the ride. I think it was all the really bright colors and black lights. I loved the tight grip she had on the bar.
Castle shot - She lost her ears right before this picture and we never found them :(

Avery on the carousel at California Adventure - She saw this when we were standing in line for Toy Story Mania and kept pointing at it and kicking her legs. She was so excited to go again!
Avery at Sea World helping Mommy feed the dolphin. She really liked him! (July 23)
Avery got to meet Elmo and Grover! She loved them! She couldn't stop looking at them when we were in line.

Avery looking at the flamingos. She really liked these and the ducks that were in there, too. Everytime I tried to leave, she would grab the top of the fence and wouldn't let go. I think she would have stayed here all day. She also really loved the sea lions. We also noticed Avery's very FIRST TOOTH while we were at Sea World! Big news!!! It was the bottom right one. I hope that means she will sleep a little better now that it is through!
Avery touching a sea star. She wanted to practically get in the water and everytime I walked away from this pond, she would freak out and nod back towards it. She really wanted to touch all of the stars!
One last day at the pool before we head home - (July 24) Avery in her A before we started or LONG drive home! I love that all of my kids have a letter here - I guess we will have to keep it up if we have more and only choose names that start with a letter in the word California. If the drive to Cali was bad, the drive home was MUCH worse! Good thing she is so stinkin' cute!
If you look closely, you can see Avery's little first tooth poking through...

Avery is such a different baby than she was a couple months ago! She used to be so content to just sit or lay somewhere, but now all she wants to do is GO!!! This month, she started crawling and she is now all over the place! On June 28, she went all the way across the room and ever since then, she has been off and running...or crawling! She has the most funny method of crawling! It looks like she is a little scooter. She sticks one leg straight out to the side and uses it to push off. It is so funny looking! At first when she was crawling, she could only do it if she was sitting up, but after about a week, she started just pushing herself up and going everywhere. The better she gets at crawling, she starts doing the more conventional crawl more and more and not her funny scooter crawl, but she still does it quite a bit! I am amazed how quickly she can get places! She is keeping me on my toes!

She is also crusing along all our furniture. She started taking a step or two here and there around June 20 and has been getting more and more brave. On July 10, she figured out how to pull up by herself and she is now everywhere! She can pretty much get anywhere she wants to and she is trouble! She will even let go for a second or two and is pretty daring at making the jump between things!
Avery is so happy most of the time, but she has started to get mad sometimes. She knows what she wants, and if she doesn't get it, she will clench her fists and do this funny growl. It is hilarious coming from such a sweet little baby girl! She also gets really mad if you take away something she wants. This seems to happen every time I load her into the car and she sees my keys. She wants them so bad and when I take them she will scream! I guess the tantrums are beginning...

Avery has also decided that she doesn't want me to feed her anymore and won't eat anything I try and feed her with a spoon. For awhile, I could give her her own spoon to hold and trick her into letting me feed her a little still, but it doesn't work anymore. She is becoming very independent and only wants to eat things she can pick up and eat herself! It is getting more and more difficult to find things she will eat. She is really good at picking things up though and can get even the littlest things with her pinchers and get it into her mouth.
Avery had a bad sinus infection for awhile this month. She was so sad and she actually refused to nurse for a couple of days. I think it was the pressure on her ears or the sucking or maybe it was just hard to breathe because she was congested. I had to pump and give it to her in a sippy cup! She finally started feeling better! It was a long couple of days for me and her!

Avery has a few funny new tricks - She loves to take her little fist and hit it into her mouth and say "ahahahaha" She sounds like a little indian. Sometimes she seems to hit herself in the mouth pretty hard, but she doesn't seem to mind. On July 11, she started clicking her tongue and she was so pleased with herself and did it all day long. It is adorable! She loves to dance and bounce, if she is standing or sitting, and she can't seem to help herself from doing it if she hears music. Her favorite game is Peek-A-Boo! She plays it constantly and she even says something that sounds like "boo" now. She will play it with a blanket and hide under it and pull it down, or she will hide her face in my leg or on my shoulder or into the couch...just about anywhere she can... and then peek up. It is so fun and she loves it! She is really developing her personality now and she is a silly girl and is always laughing at herself. I think she is pretty entertained by the things she does.
She is really catching on to signing now and she is VERY good at signing finished! She is very emphatic about it and when she is done she shakes her hands and lets me know that she is DONE! She is starting to get more, too, and she will say "ma, ma" but it means more. She also says "mama" for me and for milk so it can be a little confusing! She signs milk really well, too, but it also means me, not just milk. She is also starting to try and sign eat and banana.
Of course, our big trip was a big first for Avery this month and she had lots of firsts. It was her first real car trip, and we learned she wasn't the best traveler. We also learned she loves crunchies in the car and her little snack cup and she will fall asleep with the music really loud or the windows down. She rode lots of fun rides at Disneyland, and her first were the tea cups. She also had her first trip to the beach and Sea World and spent lots of time at the pool. She met Mickey for the first time and some Princesses! It was so much fun and besides the driving in the car, she was the best baby!
She also got her very first tooth when we were at Sea World - It was her bottom front right one.
Avery is having some serious separation anxiety these days. She wants mom and only mom most of the time. It is good to know that she loves me and needs me, but hard sometimes. It seems like my kids all do this and I wish they would get past it and then they do and I feel bad that they don't want me. I guess I should enjoy it while I can, right?
Avery is definately turning into more of a toddler these days. What happened to my baby???

She is so cute! I can't believe how big she is. I bet Rylee loves having a little sister.
