Rylee celebrated her first birthday on March 29th. I am a birthday fanatic and love to plan birthdays and make fun cakes for my kids and try and make their day as special as possible for them. I tend to go a little overboard, but I have fun doing it! I thought of a lot of themes for Rylee's party,but I decided to go with "ONEderful" since she will only be one once!
The Wednesday before her birthday we had a little family party with just the 4 of us. I figured Rylee's big party might be a little overwhelming for her, 
so I wanted a more relaxed time for her to open most of her presents and have a little cake. It was fun - Logan was SO excited to help wrap presents, but that was because he really thought he was going to open them! Then when it came time to actually open them, he was a REALLY great helper! He was VERY excited about Rylee's new vacuum! She got lots of fun things (movies, books and LOTS of clothes), but that was Logan's favorite - the Vacuum! We took our time opening Rylee's presents and then had her favorite dinner - Spaghetti - and then had cake. It was good for me to get some practice on the cake before her big party too. When Logan turned one, he took tiny little pieces of the cake and ate them a little at a time, but not Rylee! She was so funny with the cake - She dug both hands in immediately 
and then started smashing it all around and squishing it in her fingers. She enjoyed playing in it much more than eating it - She barely tried any of it, but she LOVED making a big mess!

excited that so much of our family was able to come down and be there for her party. Darren's mom came and also my parents, 3 of my brothers and 1 of my sisters. We also had a few friends there. It was a little crowded, but so fun! Darren even Rylee a special number 1 pancake for breakfast (he loves making shaped pancakes for the kids...it is so cute!) We went shopping in the morning at the outlets - Rylee loves going there. She was waving to everyone from her stroller like she was in a parade - It was SO cute! We also went to lunch at In-N-Out Burger, which Rylee also loves. It is so funny to see her try and take a bite out of that HUGE burger! She loves it and makes the "MMMMM" sound when she gets a bite. For the party
, we had Cafe Rio dinner - Yumm! I used pink and purple to decorate and made a pink and purple number one cake. I made a regular cake and had Darren help me cut a one shape out of it and then put it onto another cake. It thought it turned out pretty cute! I also made Rylee a smaller version so she had a cake of her very own. The party was a lot of fun, but Rylee got tired pretty quickly. It was quite a long day for her. She got quite spoiled and got lots of fun presents - A purse and shopping cart, a baby doll and stroller, some little figures, and a little ride on zebra that bounces. She LOVED the zebra and had a blast on it. Unfortunately, she was a little too tired for cake and barely touched it! She was a little ornery and crying by the time we got around to that part of the party. She seemed to have a great birthday though! She is such a lucky little girl to have so many people love her!
