August

August was a busy month at our house.  It always feels like by the time we get to the end of the summer, we are trying to cram in a million things that we planned to do, but hadn't had time for yet.  This year we made a Summer Bucket List and might have been a little overly ambitious and there were SO many things we tried to cram into one summer!
Aug 1 - Bronson loves his little playgym!  His little legs just kick because he gets so excited and his arms go crazy, too.  He just lays there and coos and squeals and looks up at the toys.

Aug 2 - The yard projects continue.  It feels never ending!  We finally got a couple of trees!  The kids were really excited to plant them and help daddy dig the holes!

August 4 - Our very highly anticipated trip to the Hogle Zoo.  The kids were SO excited and this was one of their favorite things of the whole summer.
August 4 - Cousin Trouble!  This picture is totally disgusting, but is actually the cleanest one I have...  And it makes me laugh.  We were at Grandma's house and Ethan and Avery were supposed to go upstairs to get ready for a bath.  Rylee came down to tell us E had pooped and taken off his diaper.  Heather and I raced upstairs to find these two troublemakers holding their poopy diapers open and laughing at each other and talking about what color theirs was and showing each other the poop on their bums!  So gross but a little funny too... I love how funny these two are together.  Cousins are the best!
August 5 - Avery teasing Uncle Dean
Grandma taking a Sunday snooze

Saying goodbye to Moses the snake.  My brother, Kyle, has been snake sitting this guy for the past year or so while a friend of my mom's daughter was on her mission.  She came home so Moses had to go home.  My kids were pretty sad about it.  They really liked him and especially watching him eat.  I, on the other hand, will not miss him at all...

Ry is the only one brave enough to hold him.
August 6 - We were invited to a special family night at the park sponsored by the national childrens study.  It was a lot of fun!  They had fun games for the kids to play, face painting, bounce houses and ice cream!  We had a great time at the park!  While the kids played, cute Bronson just smiled and cooed at me.  I loved it!

The girls were most excited about having their faces painted.
Rylee the little Princess

Miss Avery the ladybug

A pretty summer sunset - All the fires we had close by this summer gave some pretty colored sunsets.
August 8 - We spent lunch at Mack Park for a picnic and playing and then went dollar store shopping which the kids loved!  We were trying to get some things crossed off our Summer Fun Bucket List!  I don't know why the dollar store is so much fun for my kids, but they would spend all day there if I let them.   Miss Avery and her fries

Bronson just chilling
Rylee - I don't think she was too excited for a picture

Logan

August 9 - We have been trying to do better about doing some one-on-one dates with each of our kids.  Here are Daddy and Logan having a lunch date for some yummy Chinese food!
August 9 - Another favorite Summer tradition - The fair and rodeo!

August 10-11 - Daddy and Logan went camping with Daddy's YM up near Tony Grove.  Once they got there, it started raining pretty hard and everyone ended up bailing out.  But, Logan REALLY wanted to go fishing, so they stuck it out and spent the night anyway.  The rain didn't last much longer that night and they stayed pretty dry so it wasn't too bad.  The only bad thing was everyone else took all the food!  But, they got to fish and Logan was thrilled.  Even if they never caught anything!  He thought all those YM were pretty wimpy!
August 10 - While Daddy and Logan went on a campout with the YM, we had a girls night here (with Bron).  We watched a Princess movie and got dinner at "Meeders" (Kneaders) and then the girls had the brilliant idea for their own campout.  So they slept in their playhouse and Princess tent in the toy room!  They loved it!!!  They thought they were roughing it, too.  And they didn't have any rain!

August 12 - We LOVED watching the Olympics at our house!  We got really into it and watched it every night!  The kids especially liked watching swimming and gymnastics.  Rylee discovered synchronized swimming and rhythmic gymnastics and thought they were both so cool. Logan also really liked track and field! Before they started the Olympics, they each picked a country and we kept track of medals with coins.  Gold medals were a quarter, silver medals were a nickel and bronze were pennies.  It was a really fun way for them to watch - We tracked the US for fun and Logan picked Japan, Avery picked Italy and Rylee picked Australia.  Logan had the most medals, but Avery got the most moneys because she had more gold.  We ran out of quarters at the end - The US won SO many medals!!!

August 13 - Avery is so funny!  She gets out of her bed a lot lately.  We found her one night sleeping on our landing on the stairs.  Not sure how this is comfortable or when you decide to change spots in the night, but she does it quite often.
August 15 - We celebrated our Daddy's birthday
August 16 - My cousin, Melissa, got married in the Salt Lake Temple!  We had a great day celebrating with the family.  It was a little crazy because she got married pretty early in the morning.  I stayed at my mom's the night before and my friend, Stephanie, was nice enough to watch my kids so I could go to the temple.  My kids were so thrilled to play there ALL day!  Bronson came with me and I met my sister and we headed to the temple.  We were running a tad late (as always!) but made it.  Heather's sister-in-law and my cousin Stacey watched Bron while I was in the sealing.  We did have to sit on a very awkward bench in the sealing room, but we were there.  After the pictures, we headed to City Creek for a late breakfast and some shopping at the Disney Store and H&M and then went to the luncheon.  Then I picked up my kids and we went to the reception.  They loved it because it was at the big castle by Grandma's house and was catered by Coldstone!  It was a fun day!
My sweet little man looking so handsome all dressed up.
August 17-19 - We spent the weekend at a cabin at Bear Lake with the Boman's.  We had a blast playing at the beach and going to Pickleville and hanging out with our family!
August 20 - A day running in the sprinklers and playing in the water - We love that in the summer!  We are running out of summer days too quickly!
August 21 - Our final play group for the summer.  We did weekly activites all summer long and this was our last one.  We had a swim party at Sander's house.  They got out their huge inflatable water slide and we had some kiddie pools and ordered pizza.  So fun!  We had tons of kids there and a really fun day!  Here is Logan eating his pizza with Spencer, Jace and Dallin.
Rylee eating her pizza.  I don't know why she looks so grumpy.  She had a really fun day.
Miss Avery looking a bit of a hot mess.  I think she helped herself to some brownies.

August 21 - Daddy took Rylee on a date to the Real Salt Lake game.  She took herself a purse and books.  She looks pretty into the game, huh?  Love this girl!  She might not have been too interested in the game but she sure loved the time with her daddy!
August 22 - Our last official day of summer!  School started the next day for Logan, so we asked him what he wanted to do with his last day with no school for the summer.  He chose a picnic at Willow Park and going to the zoo.  We got happy meals and had a fun day at the park and zoo.  Logan had been advertising at church that he was going to do a lemonade stand on this day since that was one of our bucket list things he was excited for.  But when he realized it was his last day off, he changed his mind to this instead.  I think he may have had some disappointed customers!  We never got around to our lemonade stand.  Maybe next summer.

Sweet little Bronson sleeping through our picnic
My monkeys at the Zoo!

We always love seeing the monkeys and feeding the ducks at the zoo.

Talking to the big tortoise.

Feeding the ducks.  Bronson really liked them.  I think he was ready to jump in and join them!

August 22 - Back to School night!  Our first one with TWO kids!  Crazy that they are so big!  They were both really excited and a bit nervous to meet their teachers.  Logan had been kind of sad about going back to school until we went and he saw all of his friends.  He got so excited to see everyone that I think he got a little excited about starting school again. He is Mr Social and so friendly to everyone and has so many friends and people that were excited to see him, too.
August 23 - FIRST day of school.  At least for Logan.  Rylee got another week since Kindergarten starts the first week with testing.  It is always fun to compare the kids on the first and last day of school.  They change so much in a year!
My big 2nd Grader!
August 24 - Rylee ready to go for her Kindergarten testing.  She was so excited to go all day and couldn't wait to go see her teacher and wear some of her new cute school clothes.  She did great on her testing and it made her even more excited for school!  She was being really silly for pictures and when we first got there.  I think that is what she does when she is nervous.  But, she did great!
August 25 - One of Bronson's first baths in the BIG tub with his crazy sisters.  He really liked it and the girls LOVED it!  They are always mothering him.  I keep thinking the newness will wear off, but they REALLY love their baby brother.
August 28 - We visited the Brigham City Temple open house.  It was awesome!
August 29 - Rylee's last day of summer before she started school.  And, since Logan got to pick a last day of summer activity, we let Rylee pick something, too.  We went to the park and had Chick-fil-a.  Unlce Brad and Unlce Kyle were up for Dentist appointments, so they came, too.
Can't believe she will be off to school!
Handsome little Bron
Playing with their Uncles.  These girls are so lucky to have them!

I love this baby!  FOUR months old!  Time is going too fast!

August 30 - Rylee's first day of Kindergarten.  How did she get this big?  Please slow down!  She was so excited...and a little nervous...and had a great first day!  She loves Miss Renee and her class and LOVED riding the bus!  She was so mad when she found out that we could have rode the bus TO school as well...  She didn't think it was cool that mom wanted to take her.  She chose Charlie's for after school ice cream.  Funny the difference between boys and girls - We got much more info about Kindergarten than Logan has ever given about school!  Avery was happy to have some time with mommy and daddy, but also happy when Ry came home.  I think she missed her buddy!
My 2 BIG kids at school!
August 30 - Bronson at his 4 month well check - 17 lbs 2 oz!!!  Holy cow that is a big baby!!!  However, that did drop him down to the 86%.  He also was 26 1/4 inches long (88%) and his head was in the 80% (43 1/2).

 He did so great, then had his shots and was so sad.  I got him calmed down a little and gave him his binky and his blanky and then he was totally happy.  He LOVES his blankie.  It is so sweet!;

Bronson is now FOUR months old!  Why do they have to grow up so fast?
