My New Toy

Apr 9 - As soon as my new camera was all charged up and ready to go, I couldn't wait to try it out! I didn't really know what I was doing (and still don't...) but I love it! The pictures come out SO much better! There is much more definition and the lighting is better and I can see their expressions so much more clearly! And I can actually capture things because it is SO much faster... Here are a few of my MANY while I experimented... And the battery charged overnight and I couldn't wait to take pictures for everyone to be dressed, so it is a photo shoot in PJs!
Avery just eating some cereal
She loves to CHEESE!
Daddy and Ry
Our Rylee loves any excuse to pose! I don't even have to ask her - She just starts striking poses!
Logan is a little different....THIS is what I get when I ask him to take some pictures. He only agreed because I said he could hold his lightsaber.
He was much happier when he didn't know I was taking his picture.
Rylee pulling yet another face...
Rylee wanted one of her and her baby doll
He agreed t more pictures if he could do some Jedi moves...
A smile from Logan!
My favorite part of the new camera is how much better it takes close-ups of the kids.
Avery taking a little snooze on our ride in the car.

The one bad thing I have found with the new camera is I feel pressure to take REALLY good pictures with it, but I don't really know how to use all the features. I am learning a little at a time, but I don't feel very confident yet. I don't feel like I grab it and take pictures of the little things as much, because I feel like it has be more more of an event, and more perfect. I am trying to get over that... I don't want to miss the little things!!!

Lunch Date

On Saturday, we were all just hanging out and having kind of a lazy morning. Rylee went up to Darren and said, "Daddy, I need money to go to lunch with my friends at Cafe Rio." What??? I asked her who her friends were and she said "Ummm...Kio...and Dio..." and I think she listed a few others that also rhymed with -io. (That is what she does with her dolls, too. She will come up with one name, like "Jaja" and then rhyme all their other names. So funny!) It cracked us up! She left for a minute and came back still in her Pjs, but with socks and sandals and said she was ready to go, and when Darren tried to "pretend" to give her some money, she would have nothing to do with it and told him she needed REAL money! She is only 2 and we are already planning lunch dates! She also loves to pretend to talk on the phone, go shopping, carry a purse, flip her hair and bat her eyes, pull some attitude with hands on her hips, stomp and slam her door and she asked for CLOTHES for Christmas! If I didn't know better, I would think I have a teenager already!!! She seems to have outgrown everything but diapers and a binky...

I hope I never forget

One of my favorite things in the whole world is waking up in the morning to my 2 cute kids coming into our room and them snuggling and playing in our bed with us until we all feel ready to get up for the day. I especially love this on days when Darren doesn't have early work and it is our whole family just hanging out! The kids are so funny and sweet in the morning and say the most hilarious things. They love to have tickle fights, pillow fights, wrestle, snuggle, read stories or just tell us funny things and we all do lots of giggling. Logan will sometimes tell us about his dreams, which are alwas entertaining, and is always having some sort of adventure. Lately, he has been into going on "missions" in our bed and we are all part of it. Rylee wakes up so funny (most mornings) and happy and loves being silly! Her sweet little voice always makes me smile. I don't really know when this tradition started, but it seems like something that we have almost always done since we had kids. I realize that the time will come (much sooner than I would like) that they won't think it is fun to snuggle in bed with us anymore, so I hope I will always remember it! And until they are too old, I hope we still keep enjoying it! It is such a little thing, but one of the things I love most!

Just for Fun!

My sister is visiting and made this funny video of Logan and Rylee and I had to post it because it makes me laugh every time I watch it! I should be posting the other MILLION things that I have to post, but I am so far behind, I don't know where to start. Logan thinks this video is the funniest thing in the world and laughs so hard and wants to watch it OVER and OVER!!! I thought everyone else might get a laugh from it, too! Watch out Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens - ENJOY!

Just the Usual...

Most of my posts are devoted to our family activities and other fun outings. However, most of the time, we are just doing the usual, so here are some pictures from our everyday life from July and August. I am going to start doing this monthly. It is the little things that make up most of our lives, so I am trying to remember all of those memories too, especially while my kids are so small. I love all the funny things they do - They can always make me laugh! Here is Darren hard at work at his office. We are so blessed that things have worked out so well for him. He loves his work and is lucky to have found something to do that he loves so much. He has a great schedule now and we love having the chance to spend so much time with him!
Logan is SO funny with his cars! He has to have them ALL and then they all get lined up OVER and OVER again! Lately, he has been lining up everything! Any time I go into his room, he has some toys or his balls all lined up in the center. I'm not sure what this means, but I think it is kind of funny!
My little messy eater! This is Rylee after an encounter with refried beans - Gross! She has insisted on eating herself since she was quite small, so I gave up the fight long ago. She usually does OK, but occasionally, we get one of these messes! We have to strip her down before every meal because I was tired of her ruining clothes, and she is much easier to hose off!
Ready for Movie Night!!! Tuesday nights are Darren's Bishopric meetings, so me and the kids have Movie Night and they love it! It has become a fun little tradition at our house. We get in our PJs and get our blankets and pillows and make popcorn or another treat. I have been making Logan choose some new ones so that we don't watch Toy Story and Cars every week. He has loved it - Some of his favorites are Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood. It is a fun way for me to spend time with the kiddies while Darren is at meetings!
Here is my Miss Independent on the playground. She does everything HERSELF! I think this is mostly funny to me since Logan still has days when he is afraid of the slide. They are VERY different kids! Rylee has no fear and has learned so early to make her way to the slide on any playground.
Here she goes...
Here is Logan "Building Disneyworld". He got out his map and then started using his blocks to build the different rides. I think they were Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain and his Golf bag was Splash Mountain. He is so funny and I love watching him use his imagination!

Logan and Rylee are getting better and better and playing with each other and it is so fun to watch! The other day they were playing pirates together. Rylee even says "irate" and "Arrrgh" when she has her pirate hat on and likes to use the telescope just like Brother.

Logan eating a burger at my Roommate Reunion in Provo. The kids were supposed to have hot dogs, but Logan went and helped himself to this HUGE burger and I think it finished most of it - He loves hamburgers!Rylee eating Noodles out to eat with Grandma and Grandpa Boman. She LOVED these noodles at Rumbi Grill and I think she ate more than the rest of us. She had noodles coming out of her mouth all over and just kept shoving more in.Rylee modeling Mr Potato Head glasses. I think I have a similar picture of Logan - I think we will have to post it for a comparison! Rylee is VERY into accessories and loves her glasses, keys, jewlery and especially purses!Rylee sleeping in some random positions. She has been falling asleep in such funny places sometimes. I always think it is funny! I especially like the arms with her arms crossed....she is not dead! Just sleeping!Just a little bragging on my domestic abilities.... We bought some fresh raspberries in Bear Lake and made some freezer jam. I thought that it would be a big project like I remember when my mom canned, but freezer jam is so easy - I should have tried it sooner! I am excited for a taste of homemade raspberry jam!Rylee and her baby Belle. She loves to pose and when she knows she is being cute, she will say "Cheese" and wait for me to get the camera! Silly Girl!!! My mom got Rylee a bunch of different headbands the other day and she wanted to put them all on at once! Then she grabbed the toy camera and pretended to shoot pictures of me and Darren. She kept telling us to say "Cheese" and would snap her fingers for our attention. Do you think her mom takes too many pictures?

Logan's World...

Our Logan has such the imagination! Sometimes I wonder what it must be like to live in his world! Since I posted so many pictures of Rylee, I thought I should include some of him and the many funny things he does! He keeps us very entertained!
Logan loves to pretend he is playing Guitar Hero just like his uncles! He gets this out and plays and sings "I Want to Rock and Roll all Night and Party Everyday!" Or "Hit Me With YOur Best Shot!" It is hilarious! He even carries a pretty good tune!
Logan talking to Grandpa Boman on the phone - Isn't he funny?
Logan playing Woody in his cowboy hat!
Logan made these dog ears at story time and liked to pretend he is a dog!
I LOVE this picture because it has such a funny story! Logan got these special treats at Target for being good! He LOVES pirates and was so excited for his own eye patch and hook but fell asleep on the way home...
Then I moved him into the house and he still slept in his eye patch and when he woke up he came out and said "Where's my hook?" It was so funny! He LOVES pretending he is a pirate - especially now that he has a new telescope!
We went over to our friend's house one day and Logan helped build and paint a little truck! He loved it! He likes using tools!
Painting the truck - Kind of a mess!
Logan and his buddy Natalie after they were done!

Logan LOVES this tent he got for Christmas - He likes to pretend it is a space ship or a castle and is always playing in it and trying to hide from Rylee!
Logan also loves to play with his little town of Radiator Springs with all of his cars! It is just a little homemade thing Santa brought but he LOVES it!
Looking cute for church!
Muscle Man!
Logan listening intently at Sports class. We haven't gone to this for awhile and he really misses it and especially Coach Wendy!

Little Princess!

I have a little obsession that some people may not know about - I LOVE the Disney Princesses! So when my friend Jen brought over some old dressups for Rylee, I had to immediately try them on her even though they were still pretty big on her! I thought she looked so adorable... and maybe a little silly! She LOVED it though! She thought all the layers and sparkles were great!
