Campouts and Sleepovers

May 18 - 19, 2012  - This was the weekend of the ward Father-Son overnight camp out.  Logan looks forward to this every year, and even more this year because last year's was cancelled because the water was too high where they were going to be camping and they ended up sleeping out in our backyard.  This year, they ended up going to a lodge in Bear Lake owned by the University, so it was pretty fancy and Logan was so excited!  They had so much fun and Logan LOVED sleeping in a tent.  They had the option to sleep inside in the bunk beds, but Logan REALLY wanted to sleep out in a tent.  They had to get up in the middle of the night to move the tent because a sprinkler went on at 3 am right outside the door, and they ended up having to move it again, but Logan didn't seem to mind at all.  Other than that, it was awesome for them!  Logan was just bummed that Bronson couldn't go, too.  He is really excited for him to join in on their fun boys trips.  Maybe next year...

Logan LOVES to sleep in a tent!  He goes to bed really early and gets up early.

The lodge they stayed in at Bear Lake.  Pretty nice!

Since the boys were having fun, the girls and I had a little fun of our own!  Grandma Boman came up for Logan's piano recital on Friday night, so she stayed over with us and we had a fun girls' night and sleepover with Grandma!
The girls all dressed up for Logan's piano recital.  I loved these outfits!

And I love all their funny poses!

For dinner Friday night, the girls chose Kneader's.  (Or MEE-ders as Avery calls it) Bronson was getting really fussy so we had to take it to go and they were a little bummed about that, so when we got home we decided to make it a picnic and that helped make it a little better.  We had a picnic and watched a girly movie.  I let them pick and Rylee chose the movie "A Little Princess" on Netflix.  She is really liking a bit older movies lately and not just cartoons.  I was pretty excited because I love that movie.  Rylee loved it, too.  I think it was a bit old for Avery but she did pretty good with it, too.
After the movie, we made a trip to Charlie's Ice Cream for a late night treat.  Its pretty fun to have special nights and get ice cream at 10 pm when you are 5 and 2 years old!  They were in heaven!
Cute little Bronson joined in on all our girly fun.  We didn't mind.  He is just so sweet!!!

The next morning, I planned to get up and make a yummy breakfast, but by the time that Bronson was fed and stuff, it was getting pretty late, so we made another trip to Kneader's for their DELICIOUS french toast!!  Yummy!!!  What a fun weekend we had!

Moms and Muffins

May 18 - Rylee's class did a fun little brunch for all the Mom's for Mother's Day called Moms and Muffins.  She was so excited when she brought the invitation home.  It was supposed to be the Friday before Mother's Day, but they had to postpone it for a week because her preschool teacher's little boy got whooping cough and she had to cancel school the week before Mother's Day.  (Something else to panic me with a new little baby in the house!!!)  Here is Rylee all dressed up for her brunch and ready to leave for school.
She was pretty excited it was a rainy day because it meant she could use her Arial umbrella.

The brunch was adorable!  They wore cute hats and aprons with their handprints and served us muffins and juice and sang us a song.  I loved how excited Rylee was to see me when I got there.  Rylee was so funny about serving me.  She loved it and kept bringing me more muffins.
Singing their songs.  I remember they sang the Muffin Man song, but changed some of the words to be about their class.

She also made me this grass and they filled out a little paper with questions about their moms.  I thought it was funny that Rylee knew my exact age (most other kids said their mom was six or something like that), and that my favorite book was Hunger Games (she told her teacher "that one with the bird on it") and that I was good at walking.  I asked her about that and she said that was because I used to not be able to (after my c section)  It was a great day and fun to see Rylee at school with her friends and how she interacted with everyone.  I love my little Princess!

Big Girl Bed

April 7, 12 - With the baby coming, there were a lot of changes at our house.  One of those was that the girls needed to move into one room together to make room for the new arrival.  We bought a bunk bed and got it assembled in Rylee's room and Rylee started sleeping in it, but I was nervous about moving Avery.  She sleeps SO good in her crib, I didn't want to mess that up!  But, I also didn't want the baby to come and boot her out of there and have her have more stress, so we moved her a couple weeks before the baby arrived.  This was her last night sleeping in her own room in her crib.
Avery has a very distinct bedtime routine.  She HAS to have her monkey pillow to go to sleep.  She also has to have her little stuffed monkey Coconut (since Easter she also sometimes also likes her little Scentsy stuffed lamb named Lamby) and a blankie - She has a pink minky one and a purple minky one and she likes them both.  We read a couple books in the chair in her room and then sing a song and then I put her in the crib.  She then requests that I sing "I am a child of God."  She then has to have her sippy cup placed just so in the corner of the crib by her head.  I have to place it there though.  She doesn't want to.  So funny how particular she is about certain things.
Avery's little stuffies in her crib

She also loves to jump and dance in her crib.  She loves for me to turn on Party Rock and to "shufflin" in her crib.  Too cute!
Big cheese!  I guess she is moving on....  I think it is funny with what a little monkey Avery is that she has rarely actually climbed out of her crib.  She only did for the first time around Christmas.  And even after that, she usually only did it at naptime.  It was very rare at bedtime.  A couple times she did climb out by herself in the morning, but most of the time she would just call for us.  A lot of times, even when she was a little baby and pulling herself up to EVERYTHING in the house, she would still just lay in her crib.
A couple last pics of her room before she moves and it becomes the baby's room.  There won't be too many changes.  We will mostly just take down her letters and move some of her special toys and get rid of anything pink...
And now for the big girl bed!  I have been searching and searching for some bedding to match Rylee's.  I am so bothered that I didn't just buy another set when I bought hers, but I didn't!  We went down to Target and found this set with the same colors.  I didn't love it at first, but it has kind of grown on me and Avery loves her new PINK bed!

I was pretty nervous what would happen when we took Avery out of her crib and gave her some more freedom at bedtime, but she did so great!  I was even more nervous about having the two girls together in one room but they were perfect at bedtime and both went right to sleep!  We will see if that continues....  Avery was so happy about her big girl bed!  How cute!

Big sister up on the top bunk...

For the most part these bunk beds have worked out pretty well.  They will have an occasional fight and sometimes will yell at each other to go to sleep, but for the most part, they are pretty happy together.  We still have a little more work to do on their room.  They need a new dresser and a few things, but they seem to like being roomies.  Most of the time...

Since we got the bunks, Avery has started a funny new little routine at bedtime.  She always decides right when we are leaving the room after tucking them in that she needs to tell us "someping".  These girls have both learned how to try and delay bedtime as much as possible and there is always one more little thing they want or need and they seem to feed off each other!  Avery's "someping" is usually the same something and it makes me laugh almost every time.  She just starts rattling off her friends' names and saying "Hallie mine age.  Ashlyn mine age.  Lizze mine age.  Sarah mine age."  It is so funny!  Lately, she has changed to a few different things she likes to tell us, but for a LONG time it was the SAME thing every night!  Funny girl!

My Girls

I love these girls!  Don't they look so sweet together in these pictures?  I will have to blow these up big for my house and hang them somewhere where I can look at them when they are fighting so I can be reminded how sweet they can be.  They love to play together...sometimes.  It just usually results in fighting after awhile.  But, they do like to ride bikes, play Family, (except for when they fight over who is the mom), Play Princesses, play baby dolls, play little people, dress up like Princesses, cook in the kitchen with mom and dad, play in the pretend kitchen and put on little dance recitals and shows and lots of other girly things.  I'm so glad they have each other.

Aggie Gymnastics

For as long as I can remember, I have been a huge gymnastics fan.  I don't even know why.  I have never taken any gymnastics classes.  I just love watching and I actually know quite a bit for never having taken.  One of the things I love about living close to the University is being able to go and watch the meets.  It is a lot of fun and I think I am getting my girls hooked on it, too.  Or at least I hope.  Here are a couple that we went to this year....

Jan 27, 2012 - This is the first meet we went to this season.  It was against Southern Utah and Boise State.  Because it was a tri-meet, it got a little long and the girls started to lose interest.  Especially Avery.  Grandma Boman was here that weekend for a sleepover, so she came with us and we made it a girls night while the boys went to the hockey game.  Our friends, the Bladens, came, too.  We had awesome front row seats!
Avery and Grandma at the meet - Avery is obsessed with having her hood on at all times!
After the meet, one of the people sitting by us told Rylee that she would take her down on the floor and get her some autographs.  Rylee was in heaven and so excited!  She thinks these girls are superstars!  This is her meeting Amelia Montoya.
After the meet, we had to go get a treat so we went to Zeppe's with Grandma!  Rylee had gone there the week before with dad on one of their dates and loved it and the girls there even remembered her and commented on how cute her and her dad were on their date.

Mar 5, 2012 - We missed a lot of the meets this season because they were usually on Friday nights and we took a parenting class that was every Friday for 6 weeks.  But, we did make it to the final home meet of the season.  Daddy was at work (it was on a Monday night), but our friends, the Bladen's came with us again.  (Stephanie is a big gymnastics fan, too!) and my good friend, Summer, also came with her little girls Sky and Rain.

Logan and his buddy Carter at the meet
Avery
Logan and Big Blue - He wanted a picture with him and I wasn't sure if he was going to come any closer...

The girls watching the meet - Sky, Rylee and Savanna
Rylee and her gymnast cards - They handed out these cards for senior night of the 2 Seniors of the gymnastic team - Haley Hogan and Rebecca Holiday.
We sat right on the front row so after the meet, the kids went down and got some autographs.  This is Rylee getting her card signed by Rebecca Holliday, one of the seniors.
This is Rylee and Haley Hogan.  They were especially excited to meet Haley Hogan.  I don't know why but she is their favorite.  They always use her name when they play gymnastics at home.  She doesn't even compete that much....  Maybe it is the alliteration???  Anyway - They loved meeting her and met the other senior Rebecca Holliday too and they made a big fuss over how cute the girls were and they were loving it!;
Avery wanted autographs too and all the girls were so cute with her!

We love our Aggies!  They hosted the WAC Championship here this year and I was planning on going to that, but then my friend, Stephanie, got tickets to the PAC 12 championship at the U and it was the same night, so I went there instead.  It was AWESOME!  Sadly, I forgot my camera and my phone died so there are no pictures, but we had a great girls night eating at Zupa's and going to the meet.  She took her cute baby, Asher, and he was so good, even with all the noise!  I love watching gymnastics and am SO excited for the Olympics this summer!
