Little Cheerleader

Nov 12 - Ever since she was a little baby, at every sporting event we have attended, Rylee has been watching the cheerleaders. She has always loved them! The high school near our home does a little clinic every year and Rylee was so excited to go! All she could talk about was meeting REAL cheerleaders! We dropped her off that morning and she learned her dance and some cheers and even ate pizza. She was pretty excited about that - EATING with REAL cheerleaders!!! Then, after lunch they did a little performance for the parents. She had a great time!

It was so fun to watch her perform. I know this picture is awful, but I love how excited she was to see us. I think she was starting to be a little worried after not seeing us for 3 hours.

Her group was the smallest age group. They danced to "Move it" from Madagascar. Rylee was WAY into it!

After they all finished their dances, they came back out to do a few cheers. They always held hands in a big chain. The little girls were so cute! Sometimes they forgot to stop holding hands to cheer

This was her favorite one - They got to jump around in a circle and say "White, white, white! Blue, Blue, Blue!" She was giggling the whole time
Way to go Rylee! Afterwards, we found out that she would also get to dance at a boy's high school basketball game and get a cheer shirt! She was pretty excited about that. She spent lots of time practicing between the camp and her performance so she would be ready.
On the way out, Rylee insisted on a picture with the mascot.
And then so did Logan! Funny kids!

Princess Camp

June 7- 9 - While Logan was at soccer camp, Rylee got to go to a cute little day camp for Princesses and Pirates. I feel like Rylee has a hard time sometimes being in the middle. She isn't as big as Logan and doesn't get to do all the things he does, but she isn't the baby and doesn't get all the attention Avery demands. So, little things like this that make her feel special are so great for her. She had the best time and talked about all her cute little friends she made all week. We all know that this girl LOVES anything Princess, so this camp was perfect for her!
I didn't get a picture on the first day, but here is Rylee on day 2! She wore normal clothes for her first day but insisted on Princess clothes for Day 2 and even wore heels! Silly girl!
For her last day (day 3), Rylee wanted her Belle dress.
Avery always wants to join in the pictures, too. I just liked how Avery is in the chokehold in this picture - It sums up the way these girls are most of the time...
This is when I picked up Rylee after her last day. Her little friend Madi was also in the Princess camp. They had so much fun together! I love how they are holding hands. Too cute!

Rylee LOVED all the fun things they made at her little camp and couldn't wait to show off her treasures each day. She loves doing craft projects and coloring and painting. They made this cute PINK treasure box COVERED in jewels (Does it get more girly than that???). And she also made a little Princess flag, a wand and a PINK crown, also with jewels. She also colored lots of cute pictures. When I was tucking her in the night before the last day, she told me she was so sad because she was going to miss all her friends and her nice teachers. She had a great time and I think this made her even more excited for Preschool!

Soccer Camp

June 6 - 10 - Logan spent his first week of summer break at the British Challenger Soccer Camp. He went last year, too and he loved it, so we decided to do it again this year. He moved up into the older group this year, so he went for 3 hours a day instead of just 1 1/2. He had a great time and he loved all the coaches and listening to their British accents!

Some shots of Logan in action during their World Cup games. Each day, they would do lots of drills with kids their age and then split up into teams for World Cup games. Logan LOVED the World Cup! It was his favorite part of camp!
This is what Logan came home and did most days when camp was over. Sadly, he wasn't feeling well this week and he even missed the 2nd day of camp. We didn't know until that Friday, but he actually had salmonella! I probably shouldn't have been sending him, but he acted fine most of the time (except when he was pooping...) and wanted to go, so I sent him. Poor kid! It is rare he takes a nap these days, and I just thought he looked so sweet all curled up on the chair.
For the last day of camp, they had a big celebration and World Cup final. There was a contest to make a flag for your county. (Logan was Germany) They gave extra points for the biggest flag, most creative flag and smallest flag. Since Logan wasn't feeling so great, I didn't really worry about doing it, but he of course, wanted to participate. Luckily, Daddy came through with an awesome TINY flag that he made with a toothpick that he broke off and Logan tied for the smallest flag and got extra points for his team. He was SO proud!
For the last day, the parents could go and watch the last part of camp. First, they split off by ages and demonstrated all the skills they worked on. They did lots of dribbling and stuff. Here they are juggling off their knees. My favorite was watching them try and juggle on their heads! Hilarious!
They also tried to balance their ball on the back of their necks....
We got to watch a few World Cup games, too. Logan was on team Germany and they were terrible! I don't think they won a game most of the week. I think maybe they tied once...maybe... On Friday morning, before camp, he told us he needed to eat extra cereal for more energy because his team really needed him because they were so bad! It was so funny!
For some reason, Logan really liked to be the goalie. Probably so he could stand like this the whole game... Most of his team were really big kids, so it was a little hard for him to keep up.
Logan's team FINALLY won their very last game! They had quite a celebration!

Logan was so excited that his good buddy, Morgan was doing soccer camp, too! He also won for the most creative flag - which he made of Rice Krispies! - so it worked out really well for them both!
Logan and Coach Georgie. He LOVED her! She was so good with the little kids and so fun to listen to talk! Logan had a great experience and learned a lot. She wrote him a little card that said he was a great dribbler and just needed to work on speed and staying focused. They played so many fun games. My favorite was one where they would try and run across the field, and she would shoot balls and try to hit them to get them out. She would ask them if they were ready and they would say "I was born ready!!!" and flex their muscles. Then she would say Bomb's Away and they would run across and after she would ask if there were any survivors and they would sing "ah, ah, ah, Stayin' alive" while doing some John Travolta moves. It was so funny to watch! Logan had a very fun week - despite his illness!

Rylee's Teddy Bear Picnic

Since Logan got to go to his soccer camp, I signed Rylee up for a fun little Teddy Bear Picnic Day camp at Logan's old pre-school in June (June 21 and 23). She was SO excited to go to his old preschool! She thought she was so big! It was one of the first times she has gotten to do anything like this and she loved it!
Rylee and her best friend, Maddie. She was SO happy that Maddie could go with her. They are the cutest little friends!

Rylee and her Pink Carebear. Rylee was so excited about her special little picnic and she kept telling Logan that it was "Girls only! No boys allowed!" When we got there the first day, there were several boys, so I had to explain to her that it was OK for boys to be there so she would be nice.

Oh, I love this girl!!! She had so much fun at her little day camp! She came home and talked about it for days. She really loved playing with new friends and the fun snacks they had. They even had a special treasure hunt and she told me all about it. They also played in a fun little playhouse and Rylee loved that. On the second day, they got to wear swimsuits and play in the water. She is so different than Logan in that when I ask him about something, I can barely get him to answer, but Rylee will tell me EVERY detail! Girls and boys are so different!
