Once there was a Snowman

This winter was FREEZING, but there really wasn't a whole lot of snow. At least not new snow. It seems that we got hit with a blizzard, and then it was too cold to snow and too cold for the snow to melt, so all we had was that crusty, gross snow. We had big sledding plans for this year, but we never really had enough new snow to go. This day (January ?) was one of the few days the kids really got to go out and play in the snow and the only snowman we built this year. They had a great time!
Daddy is so great to help them build a snowman. I'm not such a great cold weather girl, but I did go out for awhile with Avery. It got cold for her pretty quick though.

This was Avery's first chance to play in the snow. She didn't do much playing, mostly watching. It was SO bright that day she had a hard time opening up her eyes. It was a little funny watching her cute little squint.

Daddy and his girls with the start of their snowman. Notice Rylee is eating snow. That is her favorite part of winter!
What a cute girl!
This is the best I could do with Logan - He is so hard to get a picture of lately! Especially with how bright it was outside!
The completed project! We really had to improvise for his face. Logan was pretty set that he have a "corn cob pipe and a button nose and 2 eyes made out of coal" just like the song. However, we had none of those things.... or even a carrot! So, he has a tomatillo mouth and eyes (we had bought some for a recipe and these were leftovers that were going bad), a pretzel mouth and candy cane pipe. A little ghetto, but we score points for being creative!
My cute snowman builders! The sad part is this guy lasted about 2 hours - I looked out in the backyard a little bit later and his head was already gone! The kids were pretty upset!
My cute snow baby!
Since Darren had been promising to take the kids sledding, they went over behind our neighbors house and tried out this hill when the snowman was done. It wasn't very big, but the kids had a great time and they could make it back up the hill without too much help. Rylee actually liked just going down on her bum and with her slick snowpants, she slid pretty fast.
Daddy pulling them around in their sled. They were having fun, but tired Daddy out really quick!

I love their cute faces!!!
It is now April and should be Spring, but we have woke up to snow for the past 2 days! What the heck??? About a week or two ago, it was snowing and Logan stood at the window and said "What? It is snowing! It is Spring! Doesn't March know there is no snow in Spring! I think March is a little mixed up!" My thoughts exactly! Maybe March should also tell April.... We don't want anymore snow!!!
