Trimming the Tree

Nov 21 - I normally am completely opposed to putting up our tree before Thanksgiving, but this year I couldn't wait for some reason! I don't know if I was just in the Christmas mood, or if it just made me feel better after being sick. Either way, I wanted it up! So, we did it a little before Thanksgiving, which has never happened before at our house!
The kids love getting out the Christmas stuff and looking at all the ornaments we have collected. We get a new family one each year and the kids also pick their own ornament each year. They love having their own special ones to put on the tree. This year, Logan picked a Lego Star Wars Darth Vader ornament, Rylee picked a Rapunzel ornament and Avery picked a Mickey clubhouse one that was a hot air "babloon". Our family one came from Disneyland since that was our vacation this year. We have quite the collection of those!
This is not a great picture, but it captures Avery's fascination with Baby Jesus this year. Avery LOVED all our nativity sets this year and had Baby Jesus all the time. She wanted us to lift her up all the time to see Baby Jesus in our big set on top of the piano and I always found random Baby Jesus figures all over the house that she had stolen from the nativity's. And don't mind her backwards PJs. She insists on dressing herself and will not let anyone help her! She also has mismatched Pjs. She likes it that way. I didn't do a very good job of photographing the tree assembly! This is the only one I really took. We did get the tree out a few days earlier to decorate it and had to wait because we thought that a bunch of the lights were broken. We went and bought new ones and were taking them off the tree when we realized they weren't broken...just unplugged! Ooops!!!
The most exciting part is putting the star on top. They were all fighting, so we decided to let Avery do it, but each of the kids passed it to her. That helped some of the arguing. A little...
Adding our star....
Our finished tree! Notice I did not have the kids dressed in special clothes for this picture.... This is real life! Yeah for Christmas!!!

Little Cheerleader

Nov 12 - Ever since she was a little baby, at every sporting event we have attended, Rylee has been watching the cheerleaders. She has always loved them! The high school near our home does a little clinic every year and Rylee was so excited to go! All she could talk about was meeting REAL cheerleaders! We dropped her off that morning and she learned her dance and some cheers and even ate pizza. She was pretty excited about that - EATING with REAL cheerleaders!!! Then, after lunch they did a little performance for the parents. She had a great time!
Showing off her best cheer pose before leaving for the clinic
So excited!
Look at that toe touch!
It was so fun to watch her perform. I know this picture is awful, but I love how excited she was to see us. I think she was starting to be a little worried after not seeing us for 3 hours.
WavingLove that excited face!
Her group was the smallest age group. They danced to "Move it" from Madagascar. Rylee was WAY into it!
She loved shaking it!
She is concentrating so hard!
After they all finished their dances, they came back out to do a few cheers. They always held hands in a big chain. The little girls were so cute! Sometimes they forgot to stop holding hands to cheer
Rylee doing some cheers
This was her favorite one - They got to jump around in a circle and say "White, white, white! Blue, Blue, Blue!" She was giggling the whole time
Way to go Rylee! Afterwards, we found out that she would also get to dance at a boy's high school basketball game and get a cheer shirt! She was pretty excited about that. She spent lots of time practicing between the camp and her performance so she would be ready.
On the way out, Rylee insisted on a picture with the mascot.
And then so did Logan! Funny kids!

First Snow Day

Nov 5 - We had our first snow fall and the kids were so excited! It took awhile for me to dig out all the snow gear and find stuff that fit and they could hardly wait to get out and play. The first snow is always the most exciting! It seems like usually by the end of winter, we are so tired of it, but this year I think we wouldn't mind a little more. This is one of the very few times this year that we even got to go out because we haven't had much snow since. They had a blast!!!
All bundled up and ready to go! I love Avery's little smile - She is so excited to go and by like the big kids.
Tromping around in the snow - We really didn't get much! It was enough for snowball fights and snow angels though so they were pretty happy. No snowman though. Snow angels! I wish I would have gotten a better picture. Watching Avery walk around in the snow just made me laugh. She was so bundled up and couldn't walk too well in those puffy pants and coats and big snow boots. She did much better than last year though. She just had a hard time getting up if she fell! She loves to be big like the other kids and thought playing in the snow was great. Ry getting hit with one of Logan's snow balls. They thought throwing it (especially at ME) was hilarious, but didn't really like it coming back at them!
The favorite activity of the day was eating snow!

This girl LOVES her snow - Especially eating it! When the other kids were done playing (which wasn't long at all!), I asked her if she wanted to come in for some hot chocolate and she said, "Mom! There is still more snow to eat!"

November Happenings

Our November was not very exciting. I didn't take many pictures and I don't think we had a whole lot going on and I was still not feeling great. It seems like November is always kind of a boring month at our house after the fun fall stuff and Halloween and then waiting to start all the Christmas fun. I also started working on a fundraiser for a friend in November and it got a little crazy! I had a lot of fun doing it, but it took much more time than expected. Anyway - Here are a few of the random happenings from our November....
Nov 1st - Another one of Avery's lovely messes - this time with marker! she is quite the little artist and quite proud of her work. Maybe I shouldn't make her take pictures of all her messes. I did put her in time out first, but it might be sending mixed messages!
I'm pretty sure that I have very similar pictures of both Logan and Rylee looking the same! I think 2 is the time for messes!
Nov 3 - These two make me laugh - They are both the best of friends and worst of enemies for sure!
I love that they want to look the same.
Then it starts to turn ugly... These two fight constantly but they are still best friends at the end of the day!
Nov 3 - One of my favorite parts of this time of year is playing volleyball with my ward. We have a great time! This year wasn't nearly as fun as last year because lots of people seemed to have babies and couldn't play. Our team was much smaller. But, we still made it to region and had a great time playing there. Unfortunately, we didn't move to the next round this year, even though we were SO close! We went to dinner after and had a lot of fun! I love these ladies! Brenda, me, Alicia, Cassie, Sandy, Karen, Courtney and BarbiNov 5 - Rylee tucking Avery into bed. They love to play house together. Rylee LOVES to mother anyone who will let her. This used to work great, but sometimes Avery now wants to be the mom and it gets a little crazy! She doesn't let Rylee boss her around much anymore, which is usually the cause for the fighting. When they are getting along though it is so cute to watch. This is one of those times where they were both having fun and were so happy playing.
November 5 - Heading to the first Aggie game of the season!!! The kids love riding the bus there. We have season tickets this year, so we will be doing this a lot!
Nov 6 - Besides changing her own clothes CONSTANTLY, Avery is always changing her babies diapers! I am going through so many diapers and wipes because she is always changing them with MY stuff! She even rolls up the diapers when she is done like they are poopy and throws them away. She gets out the changing pad and everything. She is actually pretty good at getting the diaper on. Maybe she will be helpful when the new baby comes...
Nov 9 - My little artists at work. Logan was never much for coloring and stuff, but these two love it and are constantly coloring and cutting. They entertain themselves for a long time. I love it!
Nov 9 - Not a great picture... I actually think that Rylee took it. But, it totally captures Avery right now. Jammies and boots! Those are two of her biggest loves! I'm surprised that they match because that is pretty rare. There is a good chance that this is also her 3rd pair of jammies for the day because she LOVES to change them! She also loves to put shoes on and she never wants help with either one. She is totally into doing it all herself!!! Nov 11 - At the BYU game! It gets a little crazy at these games and we wanted to be able to ACTUALLY watch the whole game, so we left the girls with a sitter and brought Uncle Jeff instead. The game was AWESOME and we even won! I did almost get assaulted! It was a little scary! The old man behind me started screaming at me to sit down. I didn't say much too him because it is a sporting event and everyone is standing up. I might stand up a little more than the average fan, but not the whole game. Anyway, I just said something about everyone standing up and Darren said, "It IS a sporting event." The next thing I knew, some extremely red faced guy who was the old man's son had jumped over several seats and was standing right over me screaming in my face about respecting my elders! He was crazy!!! Darren left to talk to security, but they pretty much said they couldn't do anything unless he punched us or something. Then, being pregnant and hormonal, I started crying and it was SO embarrassing! Lots of people around us were yelling at the guy to apologize, but he wouldn't. People were being really nice, but I felt so dumb and like everyone was staring at me. The best part is they sit behind us for the rest of the season. Should be awesome!
Nov 15 - Logan's first Love Letter!!! He brought home this letter from Nora in his first grade class and who also lives in our neighborhood. The funny thing was he didn't seem to think anything about it. Boys don't notice anything!!! The only thing he said about it was that she spelled his name wrong.
Nov 21 - Rylee had a cute Thanksgiving feast for preschool and they were all supposed to bring a snack to share. Rylee chose apples and bananas. She is my healthiest eater for sure! She loves fruit. Daddy even took her to Kneader's for a date and told her to pick ANY treat, and she picked the fruit cup. Nov 22 - Logan's class had a super cute day in their class where they presented all they learned about spiders. They had kind of a "Spider Bowl" where the kids were against the parents and the teacher asked a lot of questions about spiders. They learned SO much and really knew their stuff and beat the parents by a lot! Logan was so excited for this day for awhile. He was totally talking trash and even feeding us false information for weeks before so we wouldn't know the answers! After all the questions, they showed us these cool spider models that even had a web and an egg sack they made and a portfolio all about spiders. It was really fun and Logan loved it! Especially that he beat Mom and Dad!
Logan was quite proud of his Black Widow spider model and was very careful to make sure he had the right shape on his back and everything.
Nov 23 - Avery loves to change her clothes!!! She gets into multiple outfits every day. A lot of the time it is jammies - they are her favorite! One day, I put her down for a nap and an hour later, I went in to see what she was doing and she had clothes all over in her crib and a hoodie stuck on her head that she couldn't get on. She was screaming because it was stuck. I think she had been changing clothes the entire time and NEVER took a nap - the little stinker! This is one of the many ensembles she has come up with on her own. Such a fasionista! Do you think this look will catch on?
A mini dress, pj shorts, and a puffy vest with fur....
Nov 23 - Just hanging out watching cartoons in a fort daddy built. He is the best daddy and they love his forts!
Nov 24 - We celebrated Thanksgiving.
Nov 29 - And my belly is definitely starting to show. I attempted one of those take your own picture in the mirror things, but it didn't go too well. I need some more practice! And a clean mirror! Anyway - This is at 18 weeks. I'm pretty sure I never popped out this early before, but I guess this happens with #4. Or at least that is what I have been told.
