Avery's 4 Month Pictures

Our computer is still acting crazy, but we are getting a new one next week, so hopefully I can catch up on blogging for the last 2 months. While I am waiting for the pictures from my camera, I thought I should post Avery's 4 month pictures I had done the end of January since it is almost time to go again. They are some of my favorites yet! It is a good thing, too because the trip to get them done was CRAZY!!!
I usually schedule appointments to do pictures when Darren is home so that he can come with me or I can just go with Avery and leave the kids home. I had an appointment in the morning, but Avery fell asleep and I didn't want to wake her up for pictures and have her be cranky. They had a later appointment, but it was when Darren was at work. I decided to try it because Avery was acting so happy and it worked perfect for her schedule. I figured Logan and Rylee would be Ok since they had a tv where they could watch movies while we did the pictures. They WOULD have been Ok, except our appointment lasted 2 HOURS!!! I admit, I was about 20 minutes late for my appointment since I had to feed Avery, but that is usually not a problem. They told me it would be about a 15 minute wait. It was closer to 30 and then it took FOREVER to get someone to proof the pictures and to help me place the order after the pictures were taken. It is a good thing I liked the pictures or I would have just walked out! I am pretty sure that 2 of the customers who came in after me left before me which was so frustrating! My kids were angels for about an hour and a half and then it was all downhill! Not that I blame them...I was about to meltdown after that long. I was almost done going through them and was waiting for the guy to come over and do my order and Rylee demanded that I hold her and then she BIT me! What the heck??? She has NEVER done anything like that before. I put her in a timeout chair because the guy was finally finished with other customers (who came in AFTER me!!!)and ready to do my order. About 5 minutes later, a lady taps me on the shoulder and tells me that "your little girl is smacking your baby in the face"! Awesome! Rylee woke Avery up by smacking her in the face. She assured me that she was "burping her", but I told her we don't burp in the face!!! Yikes! By then, Avery was screaming, I was about to lose it with Rylee and Logan's movie was over so he was starting to run around. I just told the guy to order whatever was on the screen so I could LEAVE. I didn't end up with exactly what I wanted, but I least I have the digital files. Some day I will miss all of this, right??? Anyway - it was not my favorite trip to the studio, but some of my favorite pictures! For those of you that don't want to look at ALL the pictures, here are a couple collages of my favorites.

These first 2 are my favorites. Isn't Avery so sweet?

I love this cute baby!
She loves to chew her hands! She loves her tongue! I think she looks like a puppy in this one with her tongue out...a cute puppy, of course!

She is a thumb sucker these days just like her brother!
This is the only sad one. You have to have one of those, right?

Avery is such a happy baby!

I love all the different faces she makes!

Blowing spit bubbles!

I love this close up!

I can't believe how quick my baby is growing!

On a Roll...

Tonight, Avery rolled over for the first time! I was picking up toys in Rylee's room and she was laying down and talking to me and I rolled her onto her tummy and she went right back over. I thought it was a fluke or something and maybe I hadn't rolled her all the way, so I rolled her back over and a few seconds later, she rolled from her tummy to her back again. If I hadn't seen it myself, I would have thought Rylee just rolled her over (since that happens frequently...) but she really did it! Avery doesn't like to lie on her back or tummy too often, so I thought it might take longer for her to try rolling, but she did it! After the kids were in bed, I put Avery on her tummy again to show Darren and she went right over for him twice and then for the video camera, too. It is so exciting when they hit a big milestone like that, and I get excited, but I also feel a little sad, too. My little newborn isn't so little and newborn anymore. I guess we better start being more careful and doing some more baby proofing! Mobility is on the way! We have had friends over recently with little crawlers and I have realized how NOT baby proof my house is right now. It is going to be much harder this time since my kids now have toys with a million little pieces like Star Wars guns and barbie shoes and legos!

Out with the Old...

Speaking of old, this post is SO old. I am so far behind it is a little ridiculous! So...here is a little flashback to our New Year's Celebrations. I said last week that I was going to post one thing a day until I was caught up, but that didn't happen, and this week is going to be crazy, so I doubt that it will happen again. Maybe someday I can be one of those people with a clean house, an updated blog and scrapbook and lots of completed craft projects. Heck, I would be thrilled if I could do ONE of those things! For now, I am NONE of those, but I have 3 cute kids who I do spend lots of time with and I love that. I try and remember that I will never get this time back, so it is OK if I can't keep up with the house and other things.
To start with, I think New Year's Eve is one of the most overrated holidays there is. If you don't drink and you have small kids, what do you really do? This year, we spent New Year's Eve with Darren's brother Brian and his family. Our kids LOVE going to Uncle Brian and Aunt Val's and they love playing with their cousins and their kids love to entertain ours. It was pretty low key but we had a good time.
Rylee and Daddy checking out the Ping Pong action. This is probably why Uncle Brian's is one of Logan's favorite places to visit - They have a Wii AND a Ping Pong table. Pure heaven!

Rylee and Avery
Rylee and Avery and the BIG baby that she always manages to find at Brian and Val's. She loves that thing and heads straight to Lauren's room to find it every time we visit.
Avery ready to ring in her first New Year. Isn't she the cutest??? I love those boots!
Rylee and her big baby again. She toted that thing around all night.
We played a few games for awhile and Avery just hung out in her bumbo. She loves that thing! She is getting pretty good at grabbing her toys, too.
Avery took a little nap and we found her sleeping like this - With the thumb in. She has found her thumb a couple times before that, but after this, it was a pretty regular thing. She may be addicted, just like Logan!
Gotta love this face! Rylee is full of these facial expressions. She cracks us up!

Logan enjoying some Ping Pong action!

Rylee loves to play in Lauren's special little playhouse. She had a lot of fun with her cousins!
We thought the kids would go to bed around 10 or 11.... Nope! Too much fun and excitement! They stayed up and rang in the New Year at midnight! Here is Logan and Madi. She is so good with our kids - They love her!
Avery was the only one asleep when midnight came around. This is how she rang in the New Year.
Me and Rylee - Happy New Year!
Me and my baby in our first photo of 2010!
Logan and Daddy - It took us FOREVER to get them in bed. Even after this, it was at least another half hour. It must have been way too much fun! It made for a long day the next day, but at least they had a good time. We stayed with Brian and Val that night and had breakfast again the next morning. Thanks again for a fun time guys!
On New Year's Day, we headed to my Uncle's for our traditional Oil cake celebrations. They are the most delicious things you will ever eat! I ate way, way WAY too many, but we had a great time visiting with family and eating lots! Here are Rylee and Logan with Uncle Brad watching Toy Story in my Uncle's basement.
Avery hanging out with Grandpa Boman - She fell asleep like this.
Avery's 1st New Year's Celebration - No oil cakes until next year though!
Logan and Uncle Brad watching football.
Darren fell asleep watching football with the boys. He didn't even flinch when I snapped this photo.

Our fam! Happy New Year!!! From here, Darren and I headed off to celebrate our Anniversary and the kids stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Boman for a sleepover. They LOVE doing that! It was a great New Year! Here is to a great 2010....since we are already a good part of the way through it.... So far, so good!!!
